Hi, Has anyone had any issue recieving parts from STS Machining.

I ordered a heap of parts to do a LS conversion on the 29/9/23 online and everything was instock.

I hadn't recieved a postage confirmation for a week and a half, so i email, and he said he was waiting on the engine mounts to be made.

I then got a confirmation email that my parts have been sent 1/11/23 ( noted on the con note 2 parts inside)

I have only recieved two items from my order, and I have contacted them in regards to the rest of the order, but he said he is out of town until the 9/11/23 and he will let me know. But i still haven't heard anything.

Have ordered stuff from them before with no issues. I just found this exprience a bit weird.

Just want to know if anyone has had any issues lately?

TIA.

How does he send stuff? By USPS, FedEx, or UPS?

UPS can be very anal, and claim that Customs won't release your items until you give them a full name..... which is crap, since Customs don't care if it's under $1000 AUD. UPS in fact wants to collect personal info for their marketing crap. I've not had any dramas with FedEx for a long time, or USPS ever.

I have had dramas recently with one DHL package of two from Skandix - the big first one arrived on time; the second one took 3 more weeks, but both shipped at the same time. (I'd ordered four 164E front rotors, and two arrived in one box with a 960 foglight and other stuff, but the other box was two discs only). I dunno if the delay was Customs, or DHL, or what.

I've probably bought from STS on 4 separate occasions - ranging from their small to larger stuff, multiple items etc. Never had an issue with them but I will agree that it can take them a while to ship stuff out. Longest I've waited was 2 weeks but it eventually got shipped and happy days. For me it was LS Volvo stuff so I figured "Who else am I gonna buy this from" and just patiently waited. I'm not sure but STS is probably a one or two man band so they're probably doing their best…

If it’s who Dave Barton uses for shipping it could be months and taking a circuitous route around America as my last order did…….

I bought a some things from STS a few weeks back. It was listed as 'in stock' on the website but took a couple of weeks before the parts actually left for Australia. It arrived pretty quickly though. I have found this to be common for these one man shows that make custom parts. If I need to get the car on the road ASAP I'll email them to confirm stock is ready to ship before I order it.

Ordered a month ago and order not yet sent. STS replied to first email saying that one of the parts was being manufactured, but hasn't replied to second email asking for an update. Don't mind waiting but wish the parts weren't listed as in stock. I'm sure it will all work out in the end, but adding to the advice here that if you need something in a timely manner, check that it's actually available before ordering.

Time of year.

One man band who no doubt subs out to others.

Prolly cheaper and quicker to get a shop here to do it in the end.

So abit of an update.

Still havent recieved the another other parts from my order which was placed 29/9/23.

I have sent several emails, and he has replied to most of them, mainly stating he is waiting for the parts to be completed.

I recieved a tracking number for rest of my order on the 8th of january, but still to this day the saying shipping lable created awaiting pick from supplier.

I have emailed sts twice about the freight tracking, got one email back saying he would look into it, but no further updates.

I've had pretty similar experience dealing with Josh from YoshiFab.

Haven't ever ordered anything complicated from STS which is likely why I haven't experienced such a lengthy delay but they aren't exactly quick to ship even simple stuff that i've ordered…

I concur with what @serk and @Ex850R mentioned about one man bands, I think it's just how it goes 🤷
