This morning, I've been running around the place getting a few things organised.
Picked up a heap of car cleaning and interior products to start de-funking the thing. I havent had the need for any of this sort of stuff for a while, other than the basics - the 240 had almost no interior and saw minimal use and we have an account with a local car washing place who keep our regular cars clean.
Next up, I visited the Ohlins motorcross shock guru in Geelong. While he can do them, his preference is not to and instead gave me the contact details of a guy they push all their car stuff to. It was a good chat though and Chad knew his stuff. I've still got another option locally through a friends business but he's away in China for another fortnight still.
Progress on the wheel situation too -
* Machine up a plug to fit in the sleeve
* Tig into place
* Knock sleeve and plug out from the back
* Will also tig up the hole in one of the wheels for tyre pressure monitoring or whatever once lived in there.
Popped in to see George too. He can reset my SRS light happily enough but for what he wanted to charge me to replace the ABS/TRACS module, It makes a lot of sense for me to spend the time and do it myself. Odds are that we'd send it out to the same person for the repair anyway.
Visited Eurocity Motors again. No luck with an XC70 grille.
Dad's has been hard at work on the front bar. It's the same type of repair we did on my old 850 front bar (bought a damaged 850R front bar, repaired it and swapped it over).
Clean up the damage with the die grinder, glue in place some sheet aluminium behind the bar to hold it together, drill and countersink holes through the front of the bar and pop rivet it to keep it there.
From here, it'll need a going over with a heat gun to get some of the warping out, then the heat gun and a hot screwdriver blade to straighten/square up the channel near the top of the bar, rub it down, fill any remaining imperfections and give to the painter.
