I had a bit of a chaotic saturday which saw me pulling a no-show on VQ & Jay but managed to get a bit done on Sunday.
I did another test fit of brakes again with the final-final adaptors, which were laser cut last week.
I did a lot tapping threads by hand too. :(
I also worked through a few different fasteners to make a final decision on what to use.
Here's some brake-specific pics -
The button-head cap screw highlighted in yellow is to be replaced with a countersunk cap screw, with the hole in the caliper hanger needing to be countersunk to suit.
With my previous 'final' design this wouldnt have been necessary, but comes back to a requirement that the bracket would have needed to be CNCed instead.
The hole is to be machined out to 12mm (removal of threaded hole).
Caliper and adaptor mounted, looking from behind.
Please ignore the different fasteners. They will all match when finally fitted.
Rotor and adaptor mounted, without caliper.
17x7.5 Propus C wheel mounted. Clearance is quite good due to the inside shape of the rim.
Big thanks to
@joe for loaning me the wheel.
17x7 Titan wheel mounted. Clearance is tight with Titan and Volan but does clear. Depending on wheel weight design, people may wish to consider mounting clamp-on weights on the inner rim lip rather than stick-on weights behind the spokes of the wheel.
