Sure are homers mounts.
Yeah, I will need to notch the rhs too as the uni hits it slightly.
Im reusing the cars built in fuel pump wiring, & integrating the half of the 960 loom I chopped out.
Its all super clean & is going to look really nice when its done.
Will mount the battery in the boot, waiting for an e36 engine bay 12v jumper box for a battery point there.
All unnecessary 960 wiring has been stripped, ita still pretty heavy.
Ditching the auto would loose you about 12-14 strands
Lots of wanker connectors too, really nice to use good quality hardware for things like fuel & power steering lines

So will this will need engineering to run despite being a 260 effectively?
Nice hose connectors and joiners are good, when they aren't just for being shiny aluminium, they wear a lot quicker than steel do and there is a reason they supply alloy spanners. Plenty of people have destroyed the nice to use aeroflow style fittings with one wrong angle Steel is best for a durable installation.
Sorry to hear about the leg! I'd hate to be off working for that long after a holiday. No money sucks.
Ghettobird
Oh yes it will be engineered, already got the deets & have discussed it with a shop interested in the project.
The fittings are very easy to ruin. Nowhere near as durable as steel, its all about knowing when to stop reefing on them.
Just looking into driveshaft lengths now
Injury sucks, but shit happens & it could have been a whole lot worse

Get yourself a set of aluminium AN spanners if you dont already have some. Well worthwhile and makes it more difficult to munt a fitting.
Ghettobird
Ive been looking for a set, the Speedflow ones are 260ish +, In th epast ive used 2x adjustable spanners with a nice piece of soft plastic in the jaws to stop them from chewing the finish. Ebay perhaps
AshDVS
How long do you need a set for?
PS. You know we offer AN fittings too, right?
Ghettobird
Well I need to hook the power steering stuff up, and then the trans cooler so not long at all!
I have a MSCN round the corner from the shop, I get an idea and I can test it out within 15 Minutes =)
Vee_Que
Are they high pressure rated fittings? Every Ps pump I've dealt with on many cars, trucks and buses has some form of hydraulically crimped pipe fitting. So I hope that it's sent to the experts for that part, oil squinting high pressure into skin is horrible.
Ghettobird
Yup, Its their 490 series stuff, They screw the hose on from the outside, then it forces a cone section through the middle

Ghettobird

Ive worked out a formula now that ill be simplifying and documenting for later date, I got to the point where the Motronic 1.8 schematics just wernt enough to tell me what I needed to get the ECU to fire up, so I delved into the Swedish foums & worked out what was missing!
TLDR... Volvo green books dont tell you everything, and they certainly dont make it easy to work out what you need to make these puppies run out of their natural habitats

That's some delicious looking spaghetti
Ghettobird
Its organised chaos
Theres 4ish main sections, and about 2 meters of length for each, they separate really nicely & Ill tuck them up and mount it nicely when I have it running perfectly.
Currently the fuel pumps are on constantly with Ign power, probably due to how I tapped into the 240s stock fuel pump relay with the M1.8's fuel pump control signal & ign power for testing.
Ill also be eliminating the 960s big square sockets & documenting where its all being re-homed
timbo
I'm keen to see this I hope you're planning on making the trip to Canberra
Ghettobird
Hell yeah I am!
Heaps of time for me to get it all buttoned up

Do you mind if I pm you regarding this, as I have segregated all the wiring etc, I think it's figured out with switch 12v and permanent 12v supplys.

Pm away!
