The tacho will have the wire coming out of the dash, maybe 2cm visable with the sheathing. Its meant to be a raw car, to a degree at least. The gauge pod you won't see the wiring at least! Extra wires in the engine bay for the relays, wanting to have the lights work off the acc power instead, just need to switch some some wires around.
In other news, re enforced the front crossmember as per recommendations online and in ancient magazines on 120s/1800s.
Also fixed the cracks in the diff housing shock and torque arm holes. And re enforced it. Made plates from 5mm so it made it fun drilling holes for the shock to pass through. Re enforced the front crossmember lower rear mounts also. Then of course, painted the whole lot, etch primer, charcoal metallic followed by clear. Will see how long it holds up!
Pushed hard to get the crossmember back in the car. ordered lower bushes, put off inspecting them properly, already needed to replace the top ones and panhard rod, had those bushes but two short as the panhard bushes are the same as the upper front bushes.
There is still a looooong list of things to fit, still waiting on main bearings from fcp, but the head is still at my mates, need to get back there to measure the double valve springs.
Looking forward to getting the diff reassembled and into the car soon, replacing the brake lines and brake wheel cylinders too.. Get to use my new brake flaring tool!
Minor thing... Only need the car running and going for an rwc in the first week of December....
