Well, bled the whole system as per the manual and the brake issues have cleared up. Car is fine now. I'll swap the strut eventually but it is driving fine, just had to wind the tie rod like all the way in.

Hi James, I'm rebuilding a B230 at the moment, can you please tell me what paint you've used, it looks like a good match in the photos and where do you get your engine parts? I've been looking at FCP & ipd, I'm after rings, bearings & bottom end gaskets & seals, top end is sorted.

Hey Kieren,

It's just VHT red Engine Enamel, available at Auto One (and others I'm sure).
I source most parts from FCP. You can sometimes find parts cheaper on eBay, but when ordering lots of parts shipping from multiple sources usually cancels out the savings.

You can rebuild the whole motor top and bottom for about $600 (exchange rate has really pushed that number up lately).

Ta for that, I was thinking I'd have to get it mixed but that makes it easy. I'll go with FCP, I'm with you on that line of thinking. Head work blew $500 but it's done now & just needs me to get sorted & order some parts, can't rush these things, if I wait long enough the dollar might improve.

Yeah it has lost 18 cents over the past 12 months. So in September 2014 a $300 FCP order cost about $340, whereas today it would cost about $430.

I just dropped the FT off at Thornleigh Cylinder Heads to be overbored and have the crank linished.

First overbore FT pistons that Brendan had lying around. Block is at the shop being bored now

Fixed the bloody issue with the brakes locking on when hot. New master cylinder courtesy of @AshDVS and a the millionth bleed of the system seems to have finally sorted it. I abused the brakes all the way to my new place and they were fine.

Built an engine for @powder_hound. B230FT, 13mm rods, 531 head, KL Racing T3 cam. Should get to the shops and back easily enough.
