thanks!

I usually buy them from Rockauto...$59AUD including Fedex and GST for a pair. Not sure what they go for in Australia. These (the SG315001) fit properly. I've seen people fit totally wrong ones on wagons here - too long or too short, or way too high pressure and it helps to over-stress and destroy the hinges. But yeah, that's just my experience.
Ford Falcon EB bonnet strut. You'll only need one.

And this is why tailgate hinges get destroyed. If you put a super-high pressure strut on one side only, all the load will be going through the one hinge, and it will also be putting a twisting load on the tailgate. Sure, it may hold the tailgate up, but would I do it on my car? No, because new hinges are about $250USD each and I can buy 2x original design new tailgate struts for $60AUD.
Just bought a pair of struts from nitrolift.com.au for the 360. They make them for 240 wagons according to their web site. Australian made too!!
now I don't have to keep the hatch up with a garden stake!

Looks like about $50 including postage for the pair for 240 wagon...so if they're the correct length/pressure etc, that might be the way to go vs. the RockAuto ones.
I told nitro lift that the "good" 360 has a rear wiper motor weighs over 1kg and they put extra gas in the struts for the same price. Now the tailgate goes up very quickly about the same the other 360's. Ok so far!
