The printer needs an "all metal" hot end, and the ability to print with high temp filaments to withstand the high interior temps of a parked car. I used PETG but ABS would also work but its a PITA to print as its prone to warping and cracking.

If you are after a budget 3D printer the Sovol SV06 is currently getting great reviews and is a clone of the printer I have which is a Prusa i3 MK3S+

Let me see how to transfer the files. Google Drive or Dropbox will likely be the best options.

I just noticed it looks like you 3d printed one of the gauge (now vent) surrounds. I'm sure I have one (or 20) of those so if you want a "proper" one lemme know.

Just thinking, if you didn't have a 3D printer, you probably could cut the plastic mounting structure just to the left of the instrument cluster and turf it. Then you could cut a piece of aluminium the correct shape to make a completely flat panel, from which you could cut any holes etc. and that would allow the fitment of whatever vents you could find to fit. Just another option for anyone aka @Ex850R who might be investigating something similar.

Awesome job! Love the idea of swivel vents too. Thinking of doing something like this. YouTubers called whiteland restorations do something similar where they have the vents smaller below their screen and keep the instrumentation clusters. Really hard to find fascias for rhd Volvo's though. I too would really love the stl file. Does anyone have it?

Ex850R if you print the template file you dont need to flip it, use some magnets to hold it in place in the car

To all of you that are going to print the facia plate, hold of on that to the weekend so i can fix the 2 din hole, the mesurment are off. I will fix it and make both rhd and lhd ones and put it on thingiverse

You can mirror the file LHD to RHD in your slicer. My files were specific to a Sony XAV-AX6000 head unit. Files uploaded.
Note: I found the fascia difficult to fit on my 230 x 230 print bed with the right hand mounting tabs so I removed them which allows to the fascia to fit flat on the bed resulting in a better print.
