Do miss the smell of an old 2 stroke . Much fun bitd

Older hippy brother got 2T in my blood by riding from Brisbane on an old RD350 blue tank , he learned to ride on the hills of that city!

Once we rode out to Deacon University O- Week (orientation) , Midnight Oil , INXS , Serious Young Insects ( where are they now) and others headlining.

He gunned that air cooled 350 with me on back to the uni.

    Later, he rode us back..............

Mmmm, don't remember and neither did he a few days later......

    SLAMMED FROM BEHIND TWICE!

first was one of the new RD250LCs , lucky.....

Bent rear frame up like Jacky.

On the RD350LC parked at lights on LHS in gutter as I was waiting for pedestrian light to change to go left down to a pub off the mall in Geelong (could have been seeing Cold Chisel or INXS or .....

Bought the first one , engine no.000360. Had drum brake front and black seat , bought it from Kevin Cass Yamaha in the crate and put it together at home , scared the crap outa myself 1st ride 7.30pm at night on it down driveway then turned right to go up the hill. Forgot I wasn't on my old tt250 and gave it a hand full , next thing I was looking at the front wheel and the stars , after a huge tightening of the anatomy got the front wheel back down , rode it back to the garage very slowly and parked it , took it to a few bike rallies, ton of fun.

Love these air cooled , shaft drive , owned 5 of them over the years XJ900.

I have lost count. Probably 250 or so.

First was an XL175, most recent was an ‘01 TM125EN.

Biggest (and most road oriented) was the 650 V-strom. It has been replaced with a KLR650, that I haven’t even tried to get running yet. ?

    Current fleet is:

    2019 Beta 200RR,

    2013 Beta 300RR,

    2002 GasGas 300EC,

    2001 TM125,

    1998 KDX200,

    1996 WR200/YZ125 hybrid,

    1992 KX125,

    1991 KLR650C,

    1990 KX200 (KDX200/KX125 hybrid),

    1986 KX200.

Plus the kids’ bikes and El Wifeo’s bikes, and a second 1986 KX200 project bike.

      Crazy bastard!

      I ride this 1979 XS750 triple , great bike and the 1995 XJ900 now , got a 1981 XS1100 that needs restoring.

First bike Honda MTX125, when I lived in London early 90’s.

Sold that for a Kawasaki AR125.

Got my full license and bought a Suzuki DR350, stolen 8 months later.

Then got my first proper road bike, I can still get into the jacket, not the pants!, LOL!!

Kawasaki GPZ550 , this was a fun bike.

I really wish I still had this beauty, 92 Kawasaki GPZ900R, bloody awesome bike!

More recently and back in AUS,

      2018 Kawasaki KLR 650, THUMPER.

      and 2015 Suzuki DL650XT V-Strom.

I still have the V Strom, much more comfortable at my age now. Oh the pain! Ha Ha.

I see the GPZ 550 in silver!

I reckon we only got red ones here, it looks ace!

I rode one once , guy in bike shop said take it out while a tyre was going on my bike.

        Good fun!

I'm pretty envious of some of your lists here.

I've currently got what I like to refer to as 'the camry of mototcycles', specifically, a 2014 Honda CBR500RA.

It'll serve me well as a restricted bike before I move on to something more interesting/fun once I have some more riding experience on the road.

Brought this in from Chicago many tears ago as a 50th bday present to myself. Took it apart and restored it 9,200 miles from new , David silver oil line kit straight from pump to heads instead of via gearbox feed.

The R got gear driven cams. Love the sound of the V 4.

To old for the knees up style now , sold it to buy the XC60 T6 R Design (polestar tuned) , knees are waiting for both to be total knee replacement now , public systems a mess to self fund was over $45,000 and private refused to pay for it.

You can see the 2 oil feed lines to the heads below the air vent in the fairing.

My 1098S. Gorgeous thing to look at... a shit of a thing to ride for more than 30 minutes!!!

The new exhaust looks superb and you feel it... sounds unreal too.

Yep Ducatis , great bike to own , had 1981 MHR with the Nissan electrics that would drop out suddenly, bot top heavy.

            The new Dukes look amazing.

Wouldn't say no to the tri coloured 851 if I was in my 30's ?

The black and silver bike is the 900R, my GPZ550 was red like most were, although there were a lot of black ones in the UK at the time.

That would have been Pratt & Osborne back in the day, before Peter Stevens took over just about everything. Lol.

Donny Osborne raced TZ Yamaha at the time.

The Honda shop up the road from P&O shop the lad there raced too , he always played up going past the P&O shop , Honda VFR , once on back wheel up the hill through the lights , moccasins on , giving us the fingers in the shop window , EXCELLENT!!
