I will do this bit geez , I have mine dimmed right down or I am too distracted.
Dont get me started on modern car centre stacks not dimming at all , Toyota is worst....
Yep they sure do dim, this was shot with my fancy SLR camera where i slowed the shutter speed right down to capture alot of light giving the ultra brightness impression, in reality its about half of the brightness on the highest dimmer setting.
I used these LED bulbs (took me ages to search on Ebay to find them!)

These LED bulb type gives the best light bandwidth/angle that i've used and I've experimented abit.
I downside is that they will not bolt in directly as they are abit wider then standard bulb, what i found easiest was to remove the plaster transparent case and take out the middle speedo ( two Phillips screws) to gain access and insert the bulbs that way.
