Have already got the 336mm discs sitting here so kind of commited. There is only one thread on swede speed that talks XC60 twin piston as an option. I do note that they give a larger pad though 190mm vs 155mm.

Would be curious to know what the piston diameter is on the XC60 twin pots. For comparisons sake.

@VolvoMike has fitted some and notes improvement.

I got mine from him too , must get onto @AshDVS when I drag the parts out of storage, Ash can supply pads, discs and HEL s/s lines too.

Looks like I have some D5 XC90 calipers sorted for now. Will update with how the install goes. If I come across a set of XC60 calipers I might give them a go. From what I have read they need a little grinding if you run the 336mm vs 328mm disc

    Cheers

    Yeah, 328. Seems big enough.

Yet again today I was surprised how damn good the stock brakes are with brilliant feel!

Maybe they are due to be replaced , just as you get them nice..........

I'll definitely put on the '60 calipers but use OEM discs and pads I reckon. They know what they are doing and no hit and miss.

With a recent mention of DBA discs warping X3 replacements somewhere I read I'm not doing that....

I have no idea... Duncan has some that I can try for now. I really need to just replace the disks as you know, they are shot.

Xc90 calipers are m14 bolt mounting hence the question on if you will need to re-drill the uprights as most volvo caliper bolts are m12

S60 mounting bolts are M14x40 so should be good to go.

Anyone used one of these units yet?

Will probably pull the trigger on one and give it a go. I have to pull most of that stuff out to do the shifter update anyway.

A few peeps are doing this right now on the Fbook Volvo pages.

I have considered it too but lean towards fitting a tablet as I want big screen!

A Bluetooth attached phone utilises steering control for volume and track skip the tablet will do the same , that's all the interaction I need. If I can get any more functionality using the Android car app on the tablet I'd be happy. (Reviews say the Android app is way better than apple)

Guy with an S80 on Fbook selling his says the touch screen function did not work, no details on brand.

UK has sellers of the units too.

I have used Android HU in the past as an alternative but there is no evidence that the existing Volvo OEM display will be transfered to the new HU from what I have read.

Replacement TFT has been purchased, just need to review a few more photos on some gear shifter mechs to see which is the better to purchase.

No more scrapping of metal on metal.

Gave the paint a once over and hit it with a sealer.

With the autonomous braking ( if you have it) and keep distance warning system it uses the rear brakes so you go through more rears than fronts! Keep the distance warning/braking to minimums and dont get up their arse you will keep the rears good , thats why Volvo brakes for rear are good , they last a bit longer....

Needs more black mirror covers and de chrome......You can buy new black chrome strips from VOLVO.

More progress. I still have to run two wires down to the obd port for fuel and gear position but otherwise all good.
