@TL_V70 the terminal pins are Bosch, just google Bosch terminal pins I forget the size off the top of my head but it's easy to measure

I'm paying $55 a bulb on the bulbs for the volvo hids...
If anything its cheaper than halogen...

I know this is the case now.

xc90 halogens - replaced 2 once in 12yrs ownership at 9 years when 1 failed. Easy DIY.

v50 HID - 5 HID globes and one ballast over the same period. DIY easier now (though ease of access definitely a product of FORD innovation)

30/40/50 headlights are all a POS and don't benefit from the HID which are only low beam anyway.

Cheers @jamesinc I will have a look at bosch pins.

Hids are pretty useless with out a projector lens that's cut correctly so they are no good for my application. I have JW Speaker leds in another car there not bad but I am not a huge fan I will just stick with Hallogens for now.

3hrs LATER...... of scrubbing and trying to polish with multiple compounds and different household cleaning items nothing abrasive tho besides tooth paste I managed to get 1 lense semi reasonable not perfect but reasonable. I will give it a proper pplosh with glass polish and see how it goes.

I'm unlucky with p2/p3 cars

All of the xc90's owned and s80's and xc70 have needed hid bulbs

Pots and pans cycle works for me 95% of the time

Do it it would be an amazing dish casserole EL 240.

And I can highly recommend Jiff to clean the glass I tried the dishwasher a couple of timea as @Philia_Bear recommended but I have a povo dishwasher so that half the issue.

Jiff and a normal dish green scouer and ELBOW grease is a winner. I worked out if I heat the glass with hot water for 5 min first it works the best but as the glass cools the cleaning effects lessen. I gave both lights a couple of goes and I think they turn out well for 18 year old lights.

I got some new side markers and head light seals thanks to @Evan11509 and manged to fit them this weekend I have left the eyebrows off for now I will trial them again soon and see how i feel about them.

Its just a more modern tidy front end with the new lights and fender lenses for an old wagon...

Hi all just curious is it ok to clean the inside of the glass lens of headlights in the P80 platform I won't touch the reflector I just wanted to check there was no special coating on the inside of the glass thanks for any help.
I have already disassembled the whole light to repair it earlier on and re assembled already I was just curious on the glass.

Lenses can become oxidized with time resulting in yellow or foggy headlights, how to clean foggy headlights, here are a variety of solutions, it is worth reading. My Volvo v60 recently broke the light, and I replaced it myself, which can save a lot of money.
