Outstanding condition, lucky man. Thats the best condition drivers seat Ive seen, hardly a crease in the leather.

Treat it nice.

I usually source struts from FCP or RockAuto, both are pretty hard to beat for price + shipping.

Also great car! Been meaning to say that since seeing it at Nationals. I used to drive a 740 Turbo wagon, 7s and 9s are criminally under-rated!

Yeah, I ordered the struts and shocks etc in February, well before I started thinking about putting an order together from FCP. The idea was to get the suspension sorted before the road trip to Sawtell hahaha. Well that didn’t happen.

Now that I’ve dealt with FCP, I won’t bother with the donkeys at Sparesbox again.

As far as 740’s being underrated, that’s okay, I like the underdog.

As soon as I saw the condition of the interior, I knew I had to have it.

It gets treated very well. It’s just a play thing.

New tail lights fitted and looking smart.

However the bulb holder panel that came with the aftermarket lights were SHIT HOUSE.

They flashed in time with the best 70’s disco tunes.

Luckily my original Volvo holders are all good so I put new bulbs in them and installed them in the new lights. SWEET !

But I’ll let FCP know what I think of the problem, but I don’t think I can be bothered shipping the lights back to the US.

They will send new ones for free.

        Or give your money back.

        Best company out there!

I’ve sent them an email to let them know. I predominantly just wanted the outer lenses anyway, but it would nice to have spare bulb panels in case the originals ever start playing up.

          Ill see what FCP suggest.

FAIR DINKUM IM HAVING A STRING OF BAD LUCK WITH PARTS.

Ive ordered parts from 5 different suppliers in 3 different countries in the last 2 months and there has been a problem of some sort with every order.

Can you spot the latest problem?

Professional Parts Sweden is the problem, wrong item in box is just a symptom!

……the LH box has the look that it may have been reboxed by Brookhouse for some reason.

I just hope they have a left to replace it with.

I'll trade you a left for a right if you like

Pretty sure Mark orders and stocks all this stuffs at BMG....

After one of the junk Depo units from Ebay fell out of my car, I got ones from Berry's and never had any more trouble.

I’m very happy with the quality of corner lights, and they fit firmly and securely. It’s just that they’re two rights.

I had to order some parts from Brookhouse UK that I hadn’t been able to find in Australia, so I decided to treat myself to new indicators to make the postage worthwhile.

Simon from Brookhouse is on to it now and I’m sure the replacement will arrive. It’s just annoying that I have to wait again.

The originals are still serviceable, they’re just starting to go cloudy on the clear half. The left also has a small chip.

The view ahead is looking clearer!

I decided to bite the bullet and ordered a new genuine Volvo windscreen from Sweden, to replace my cracked original.

It will be installed when I get back from leave and I’ll start on all the parts I’ve been collecting over recent months. I’m really looking forward to getting the freshen up done. It’ll be like driving a new Volvo just 32 years late !

Make those headlights new again Clive. Yours need cleaning, as they all do over time. Dust gets in everywhere unfortunately.

Remove the headlight clips with flat tipped screwdriver (8 clips in all I think - 4 on top, 4 on bottom) then strip down lights using a steel butter knife by carefully prying the glass lens away from the housing seal, a little bit at a time working your way around the lens. The seal can be reused.

Use a dust blower (rocket air dust blower or similar) to remove excess dust from the reflectors, then a very damp (near wet) sponge or cloth to carefully wipe remaining dust from reflectors. Don’t rub as it is delicate, and DON'T use any chemicals or polishing creams, just clean water. The chrome can come off if you’re not careful. Lightly polish the chrome with a lens cleaning cloth (the one you clean your favourite pair of sunnies with), then reassemble with care. The lighting will be vastly improved and car will look even better.

Finally, give your tailpipe a spray with VHT flame proof header paint (Flat Black), and congrats on getting yourself such a nice car.

Thanks for that ^^ Ive been noticing some spotting on my lenses, will have to pull apart and clean

A new genuine Volvo windscreen was installed on Friday to replaced the cracked original.

Some new Bosch wiper heads will finish the job.
