The broken/crap hard plastic hose is part of the flame trap emmisions system and feeds oil vapour from crankcase into the inlet and yes does require inlet removal to get to the little black box plugged into the crankcase which you can buy new , get off the 850 if a goodun or try and clean out this one with brake clean/diesel or something , buy new oil proof hose and hook it up or again new/850.
Think you need to leave radio on for ages or off , battery not connected for ages , can't recall , to reset and code comes from dealer with VIN identifying it , ask Berry/Voldat to get it. Fascia plate can be swapped if same or just use 850 one as is?
You may need to cancel the code you have via OBD scanner. $27 delivered.eBay / ChinaBay one does it well!
Have fun!
Is the flame trap thing why my emissions light came on? Ill rip the mani off when I get time and fix it up, Ill give the mani a nice clean while its out and yeah Ill be replacing all that stuff with oil proof stuff, as it seems the Volvo OEM ones crack easily when met with oil. The 850's is in terrible nick as well so Ill just buy new.
Ill have a look in the 850s manual and see what it says to do otherwise Ill just swap them. Or I might just chuck in an aftermarket one that I have around.

Ah okay, my V70 doesn't have a book for it but I assume the one for the 850s will be the same! If I leave the key on for an hour would that not also drain the battery? Ill keep it hooked up to the jumper leads I guess haha.
