The list of things wrong with this car is beginning to pile up it might be worth moving it back to troubleshooting? Haha!
Anyway, today I swapped the dizzy and air filter pipes from the 850 (cos they are in better nick), and there is a pipe that runs behind the inlet manifold. Actually theres two, a smallish one maybe 1.5cm in diameter and a tiny one thats only about 0.5ml, and they poke out next to the throttle, where they join onto this filter looking thing thats plugged into the pipe there.

The black thing immediately to the right of the throttle/accelerator thing. Only the V70s had much less oil on it.
Anyway, all the pipes/tubing there was broken and fell apart basically as soon as I touched it. I can already see its a manifold off job to replace it but i was just wondering what that was for and if its necessary to fix it?
My engine emissions warning light came on and has been on ever since and I can only assume its to do with that thing? I did leave a few wires unplugged accidentally which I fixed and the light was still on, so I disconnected and reconnected the battery and it was still on, took it for a drive and still on. Ill see what its like tomorrow. The 850s came and went away again by itself.
Other than this, car seems to be idling a bit better and the engine is smoother and quieter, the old dizzy was caked in black carbonish crap. The new one is orange and the metal parts are still silver and shiny, a VERY recent dizzy indeed!
The idle is still not 100% smooth though, it still runs a little rough and it still smells rich. I was wondering if my O2 sensor was gone? Would explain the emissions light and the richness, but the emissions light only just came on today it hasn't been there ever since i bought the car.
Finally, my stereo no longer works cos the battery went flat. I entered in what i thought was the code 3 times and it must have been wrong and now it won't let me do anything with it. Again I disconnected the battery a few times to see if that would reset it but nothing. I have since obtained what we think the actual code is. If I can't get it working, i assume the one in the 850 is the same just has a different coloured faceplate? Cos I do have the code for that one!
