jamesinc;27446 wroteHey guy can I have the unpainted plastic trim that is the top half of your rear bumper? Someone scraped mine. *looks at girlfriend*
I think you can separate the top and bottom half...
Yeah sure, and indeed you can separate the top and bottom half. The front has been crashed and its separating. i think the rear is all intact but probably has scratches I don't know about...
AshDVS;27447 wrotePlugs, leads, distributor cap and rotor button would be the first things I'd replace if it has a miss. They're just maintenance items anyway.
Thats what I was thinking, Ill probs take the 850s entire dizzy actually, if it fits...
Ex850R;27448 wroteIf you get some turtle wax onto the clear coat and do it every month or so depending on rain you can keep the clear coat sort of nourished and protected. ( Words of advice from my ace spray paint panel shop man , he uses Turtle wax on his cars at home , not some expensive shit....)
I can vouch for the Sorbolene hand creme as leather cleaner and nourisher/ renovated , coated the spare V70 leather steering wheel in creme on warm day and wiped off with clean cotton cloth and it is nice! Same on some old leather boardroom swivel chairs and it hides some of the scrapes and scuffs on the hide , its another cheap fix , use hand cream instead of expensive leather products that may harm the hide. $5.99 a pump bottle and that was at the expensive supermarket!
Who
Ill get onto both of those things when the car is on the road. My interior has so much grease on it now from moving the car around with post driveshaft removal hands lmao... It should clean up alright.
jamesinc;27460 wroteThe good old car jack extension can dislodge any bolt.
No car I have ever had has the extension, always seems to be the one bit that is missing!
egads;27461 wroteHave you tried on axle bolts? Defeated mine so went an bought a couple of metres of gal pipe which did the trick.
We defeated ours with the impact drill :)
Philia_Bear;27464 wroteWhen ure putting the shaft back in
Make sure it clicks into place
Also
Make sure to tighten lug nuts
These 2 things are the bane of many a member on this forum
Also
Should not need more then a 18" breaker bar with the 36mm socket
Have the bar so your lifting not pushing it down and its easier
You will want someone pushing on the brakes with lots of effort
Yeah it didn't click in the first time and we lost a bit of tranny fluid, but it went in with a nice push.
Always tighten lug nuts!
Okay guys so to some up my driveshaft replacement efforts of the day? Not well...
Didn't have a size 36 mm socket so we spent all morning rushing around for one, finally got one and drove back home...
The 850s driveshafts seemed fine but look like they've been there since new, they did not want to come out.. And of course they got wrecked in the action of removing and replacing them, so theyre useless to us now..
I just decided Im going to buy new ones so I don't have to worry about this crap again for another 10 years.
However I havent found any yet. Anyone know a supplier of NEW driveshafts for a V70, and preferably not ridiculous money. I saw a set for about $250 but they only suited the original 850 (which apparently had 4 stud wheels not 5 and therefore used different driveshafts and won't fit my V70). Don't want second hand, not worth it.
Ill do some ringing around in the morning anyway :) Did manage to get some new boot hydraulics today so I can finally fix my boot trim!
