Yup, lh2.1 like vk's.
egads (she/her)
Your best bet would be a couple of Webber's as you would be getting bits from Europe to get lh2.4.
jamesinc
LH-2.4 is easy, there's a guy in California who will send me the whole harness and ECU out of a 240 for like $100 or so
egads (she/her)
Ah, ok. Not plug and play style but adapting 240 gear. Definitely needs b230 then just to make it super easy :-D
CamZH
havent you got a spare running white block in that V70 ?
jamesinc
I have to be able to enter the car in open-class events, I can't just throw in whatever engine I want.
Also, I spent $400 on the car, I'd rather not spend $4000 on the engine before I've taken it to a single event!
jamesinc
(Also the V70 has low compression on 2 cylinders)

Hmm, looks like club rally (cams) and open 2wd (amsag) have a sweetspot for 2l lightly modified and would leave you open and competitive for the most events. I am sure @spac can elaborate further as I haven't done much reg reading.

Woo I got it running. It has vac leaks. Tweaking the hoses solved it, but it's going to need new hoses for, uh, most things. I also noticed it is pissing coolant from the water pump, so I think it's time for a Rock Auto order.

I think that is right. Double check against skandix though.
Philia_Bear
mmm rock auto

Okay so the car was running like crap the last few months, so today I finally gave it a look-over and cleaned up many split hoses, then seafoamed the sucker and finished deleting the cruise control system.
It was purring nicely, then I thrashed it down the road, first was fine, got half way through second, then I hear a pop! and now it's dead. I had to flat tow it back to the house. If I put start ya bastard down the intake I can get it to idle but it doesn't stay running.
Philia_Bear
Fuel pressure?
jamesinc
Nah the pump is dead I think. The fuel pump fuse was blown, so I replaced it, but still no fuel delivery.
jamesinc
I need a Bosch 069 pump. Have no money, willing to spend all of it. 740 Turbo had an 069 pump IIRC.
egads (she/her)
Stick whatever fuel pump you have in it?
jamesinc
I don't have any fuel pumps :( Sad
jamesinc
Okay I figured it out. While changing batteries I must have bumped the fuel pump relay. It was still seated in its socket but only just. Seated it properly and cable tied the relay to the plug to keep it there, and the car is purring like it should!
egads (she/her)
Winner!
