jamesinc I just happened to look haha yeah they guy I bought this all off has the car, pretty sure he has sold the trans though, his was auto and I'm running a m46 so I have to sort a flywheel out and drill the block for the sensor.

But yeah lol probably do the rear main depending on how it looks, has a near new clutch in it I believe

@Jaz if it's a B230 I'm pretty sure it is already tapped, you just need the bracket that the sensor mounts to.

So after getting it running a while ago, i realised it was out of fuel. Threw a few litres in it, now it won't go, just cranks over. I can't hear the fuel pump going at all, where I'm pretty sure I heard it before. I've tried swapping the green fuel pump relay over with another that came with the car that I believe was good and no change.

It will fire in starting fluid so I believe it's a fuel thing.

Should I hear a pump running at all with the key in the on position?

Other than that nothing has happened with it, one day I'll have some time to have a proper look

Bypass the fuel pump relay to test if both pumps run.

Fuel pressure regulator maybe?

Just had that go on my daughters 240 1990.

Replaced crank angle sensor as well.

And im getting fuel pump/s new as well, its all old and had sat for years so now things are going bad, may as well do all this work and cost , I think all rubber hoses are done , relays are next.

This car is k-jet equipped so none of the above recommendations apply (LH-jet entirely different)

ramrod yeah it's still k-jet, I have all the LH2.4 stuff there but wanted to get the car working first before I convert it over

You'll need a Bosch 0 580 464 126 fuel pump and to do a bit of wiring and plumbing. K-Jet is a 5 Bar system.

Major Ledfoot yeah I've got to grab the fuel pump off the guy who I bought the wiring off, just haven't made it over there to him yet!

Had a bit more of a play tonight, tried swapping fuel pump relay again with no luck.

Threw a few more litres of fuel in to make sure it had enough.

Went to jump the fuel relay, wire on fuse 4, touched it on fuse 6 and bingo the under car pump is running.

Problem is as soon as the key is on it pumps and won't shut off, now I have fuel running out from the bottom of the throttle body

Whats the fix for that? So much fuel is going on it almost hydrolocks the motor under cranking.

Pump sounds noisy so probably needs changing regardless

I know the problem.

Your fuel distributor plunger piston is stuck open.

This means the injectors are constantly injecting.

ramrod yeah figured that may be the case, I guess it's either time to pull it apart and fix it or just lh2.4 it once I find a flywheel

You know though that LH 2.4 requires a speed signal (rear axle) for correct idling

I would use this current car for parts and buy a car that already has the fuel system you want.

ramrod I have the whole diff with the speed sensor ready to go as well. The problem is there isn't that many 2 series left down here for a decent price any more.

It's not too difficult to pull the fuel distributor assembly out. You can separate the fuel head from the air box and drop the metering pin out and inspect it.

Fixing the K-Jet is definitely much easier than converting to LH-2.4.

jamesinc Yeah ive ben doing some googling and it appears that its pretty straight forward to do. Ill probably start that tonight if i get a chance.

Pretty sure i still have a whole b23 with the k-jet setup on it sitting out in my brothers shed from a sedan i had many many moons ago that got cut up for speedway, so worst case ill check that out.

I need to empty the car out too with all the spares that came with it so i have some room to move in there, its overall tidy inside but just needs a clean for what i can see

@Jaz - If worst comes to really worst, I've still got a whole lotta surplus K-Jet stuff from The GoaT, which ran fine until parked (it parked when it threw a rod....) I hung onto it all for VolDan who didn't end up needing it.
