[pending] Reco'd 531 head [VIC]

My new (to me) 1992 240's b230f head seems to have an issue with one of the valves. Sounds and appears to be stuck open and makes a horrible clacking noise.

The car will eventually be +T'd so I thought it is best off to just get a 531 head in preparation for that rather than reco'ing this one.

Berry motor group has one ready to go, off the shelf. Waiting till Monday to confirm if its a 531 though. Thought I'd ask on here as well.

Can pick-up anywhere in Vic.

I have a 530 that is most likely in need of a shave. It was rather hot recently.

I can throw in a T cam too if you like, have a couple on the shelf.

Seriously though, just get one from Berry's. They are rebuilt and have warranty etc. Much simpler.

I picked the car up for $200, not sure if she deserves a fresh head just yet.

You think your 530 head is warped or? Definitely interested. Am trying to stage 0 the car as much as possible before the +T, happy to spend a little cash to get there - just figuring out the best option at this stage.

hey mate check this out it has sodium valves to suit turbo and the 531 doesn’t. You will get plenty of power with a 530 head and some porting maybe this is a good option for you

He's in NSW, doubt the shipping costs would be worthwhile. How much do the heads weigh?

When was the last time you saw a redblock head with NO corrosion?
1988 casting 530 head, originally from a 740 turbo, it could use a good scrubbing and a skim of the deck surface but otherwise is good to go ?

The head weighs about 20kg, last time I mailed one it cost maybe $40

That's not too bad actually. May be in contact, got a few options atm.
