So I'm getting back into the groove with things. January was a write-off.
I'm still waiting on some Ohlins parts, which if I wait much longer I may yet rethink suspension and do a complete GAZ or JRZ solution rather than Eibach springs with Bilstein B6 rear shocks and Ohlins fronts.
Guards and skirts will go off for paint hopefully this week, I'm still procrastinating about the bonnet (whether I fit aerocatch pins to it or not) and I want to test fit the V70R front bumper first to ensure I have everything (grilles, headlight wiper plugs, etc and test fit these in advance as well.
I'm fitting late P80 V70R (and V70XC style) roof rails to it which is what I'd done on the last V70. Last time around, I had these painted to match the wheels, which looked really good. I was planning to do that this time around too but started scrubbing them and I think I'll leave them as is in the grey textured finish.
Did a test fit yesterday but found I'm missing the rear small garnish/trim pieces between the end of the rail and the end of the roof gutter. @iceton1975 is sorting those out for me already. :)
Everything needs a clean but the roof rails should distract a little from the imperfections in the roof.
When I sold my previous V70T5 to Jared, I gave him all the weird little spare clips, etc that I'd gathered while building it.
Fast forward 5 or so years and I found myself buying some bits and pieces from Jared that he'd gathered during his ownership of my old car and, as Jared had sold it to another enthusiast, in with a box of console pieces came a paper bag full of the weird little spare clips that I'd given him 5 years prior - it's cool how things come full circle sometimes.
Some of these clips are needed for the roof rail swap!
