The invoice for customs purposes is usually inside the plastic window on the outside of the box.

But yes you have to be careful, the GST rules allow you to import up to $1k AUD without incurring GST at the border, even if the total with shipping is over $1k. However, if the goods total is over $1k, customs will ask you to pay GST on the total, including shipping.

What so it's fine if the total is say $1100 as long as more than $100 of that is shipping?

UPS here also get that wrong routinely and will include shipping cost to see if you are over threshold

Back in October, I had a lot of dramas with UPS and the stupid way they insist on having a full name - an initial isn't good enough for them - before they release your (under $1000 AUD) order for shipment. They claimed that Customs / Border Farce demanded this level of detail. So I contacted ACS/BF, who said they weren't worried if the shipment was under $1K and so they never made any such demands....

UPS has pulled this sort of crap with me before with sub-$100 stuff I'd bought on eBay from the US. Turns out UPS compiles lists of personal information about parcel recipients, then they sell that info unless you opt out - and to do that, you have to give them even more info.

I asked FCP if other shipping options were available, and it appears they only use UPS for shipping to Australia now, unfortunately.

Damn...after the UPS fiasco I always used FedEx on FCP packages...sad to hear that's no longer available.

Cost of fedex to here is routinely heaps higher so I can see why they've stuck with UPS. Still sucks to play lottery at the border

Ordered before Christmas and did email about the shipping discount following the instructions but never got a reply to my email and needed the parts so just ordered anyway with the 5 % off code but need to order again with some less urgent parts .

I emailed again with the cart reference number , logged into my account and after calculating shipping just before clicking pay but it's been 6 days and still haven't heard back about the shipping discount and this carts %5 code has expired now :S

does the email you send it from have to match your Oz Volvo account email or something as I've now made a new account with my new email address which is the one I have been trying to email them with :(

As an example , I ordered 2 x R Design grill badges for my 2013/4 XC60 last Friday, they arrived this morning (thursday). 6 days from FCP Euro to Wollongong NSW.

The strange thing was , when ordering I clicked on 1 item then thought at their price and postage I might as well order 2 as the badge cops alot of road grit blasting.

As soon as I clicked 2 , it said I qualified for free postage ( international ) .

I completed the purchase expecting postage to be added at checkout , it wasn't.

True to their word , they posted the R Design badges to me for $147 Aus$.

Anyone else had this free postage thing happen.

Yes , it was a first for me , I've bought a fair bit of stuff from FCP Euro since they offered 50% on postage and their service has always been great and seriously fast.

But it was a bit strange when I added the extra badge for a total of 2 and got free international postage , but it was easily the best price and postage I could find.

Gota get lucky some day I guess.

Just ordered a set of sump o-rings off FCP.

Scott replied to my email very quickly considering the timezone.

I checked USPS prices on the US postal website and the cheapest option there was still dearer than the default UPS shipping at FCP.

The discount on this small order was only 10 but considering they already had the cheapest shipping option I could find I am very happy that he was able to offer any discount at all on this tiny order.

This seems strange.... I have used them pretty much exclusively for the last 10 years (around 50 orders) and have never had an issue. Even a lost package was resolved really quickly and re-sent with no questions asked. Wish I could say the same about suppliers in Australia, which is why I pretty much only use FCP these days.

Even with the lousy exchange rate is it still cheaper ordering from US?

I still need to order timing belt kit and cooling hoses for my 2007 V50 2.4i. Yes I am slack, but alot been happening so it went to the back-burner.

Possibly. You can check local dealer,the surprise us by being reasonable sometimes! Ask Berry Motor Group as well.

For anyone ordering for FCP Euro the Oz Volvo discount on freight still applies. Emailed Scott as per instructions and he come back to me within 24 hours with reduced freight. My freight was reduced by US$40 i.e A$60, so worth an email
