FCP has always been good to me. Ive been ordering from them since about 2008. Used them for all the Volvo's ive had and now use them for the VW too. That being said, they arent the only parts supplier for our cars. I had a quick look on Rockauto and they list the 16v valve cover kits. If you struggle with FCP on this order you can always get it from Rockauto and try FCP another time.

This seems strange.... I have used them pretty much exclusively for the last 10 years (around 50 orders) and have never had an issue. Even a lost package was resolved really quickly and re-sent with no questions asked. Wish I could say the same about suppliers in Australia, which is why I pretty much only use FCP these days.

Even with the lousy exchange rate is it still cheaper ordering from US?

I still need to order timing belt kit and cooling hoses for my 2007 V50 2.4i. Yes I am slack, but alot been happening so it went to the back-burner.

FCP have basically doubled in size since this offer was first initiated. I went there just before Christmas 2018 and again 2 weeks ago and it's crazy how much it had changed. They have 2 semi trailer loads of parts going out each day!! Their freight prices are really incredible as it is and hopefully the Aussie dollar increases.

FCP parcel arrived today , shipped on the 8th , arrived 14th.

Thats brilliant compared to some local deliveries I've had.

I can confirm that the FCP discount agreement is still in place. Emailed Scott yesterday and received an almost instant positive reply.

FYI parts I ordered from RocAuto on Dec 22 arrived on Dec 29. Cripes it takes longer to get stuff from Sydney

Their MOOG Problem Solver suspension parts are good. Better than ipd in the link rods for sure.

Haa anyone done an order over $1000 AUD with FCP? When I've ordered from them previously they haven't included an invoice in the box so I'm hoping it wouldn't get held up at customs and have GST charged etc but if anyone's had issues I won't risk it

Be very careful...I got caught out a couple years ago as I added some parts for a mate to my order. I wasn't thinking and it put it just over $1000AUD including shipping and GST. Also it came in two separate boxes. Each box had the full invoice/packing list, and I believe it was coming via UPS (don't use them - select FedEx!) UPS rang me and said I owed GST on each package to the tune of $110 plus $85 processing fee for each box. On top of that, this was at the beginning of the "let's get other countries to collect GST for us" fiasco, and FCP had already collected GST from me. AFAIK they have stopped that now and told Australia to get stuffed. Good on them! Anyway, long story short, make sure the total shipment including shipping is less than $1000AUD or you MAY get stung at the border. Or you may not! Fortunately I was able to prove that GST had already been collected, but I think UPS still charged $85 fee for each box to release from customs.

Yes , this is what I did and they will send you a revised invoice , 6 days later I received my parts.

@martyG normally you are supposed to have the discount applied before money changes hands (see the first post on this thread).

Their system has changed slightly, you have to go into your cart and then click something like "continue to checkout" and then "continue to shipping" and then ask for the discount, but not after you've actually paid

It is what I did as well. You 'fill' your cart, then ask for the discount, then pay

Interesting, I've never received an invoice in the box and have always had to ask them to send me a pdf. Guess I should keep it below 1k to be safe though

Maybe they've changed their ways so as not to attact issues with customs/import duty etc...I know they stopped collecting the GST and it's been a while since I placed any orders with them.
