940 Turbo - 25 mm Front and Rear IPD sway bar

To me the real issue is the king springs are not that great for handling improvements I've found. I've ended up with coil overs and Gaz shocks as have a few friends but also the Whiteline bars are good. Classic swede do upgraded adjustable gaz shocks and they are well suited. They do springs too.

Going so stiff in the rear on the sway bar isn't going to be that great unless you have stiffened the rest of the bushes. Also adding caster to the front made my 740 feel a lot better and that's also pretty simple to do!

If you communicated with them and they say they are out of production, I'm sure they don't.

I would assume you did the rear control arms as well then, as they make a difference overall.

You can also use a 760/960 24mm front sway bar. But the king's springs are not very stiff and the Bilstien hd/b6s are not very stiff either so you will have roll.

The best results I had with flatter cornering is getting rid of the king springs and Bilstiens. But I also expect the car to have roll because it weighs 1600kgs with me in it. It's not an mx5. It still grips, just leans a bit like every one of my street cars.

I agree with Vee_que, the king springs are horribly undersprung in 7/9s.

I did contact whiteline a while ago and gave the guy on the phone the part number for the front adjustable sway bar and he basically laughed at me and said I dont even know where you got that from, its been at least 10 years since ive even seen the part number.

So, I guess that means IPD is the best bet for the sway bars? Has IPD been in touch. Just thinking if we could get a few people to order they might do a deal and shipping would be loads cheaper

spirited road driving… just to eliminate the massive amount of body roll inherent in the car

You probably won't get to test the car to the limit on the road, in which case you can use the thicker rear bar and it's limitations will likely not be felt but you will reduce the body roll

IMO the 25mm Ipd rear bar seems to reduce body roll nicely but is probably a bit too firm for carrying the highest possible speed through a corner on my 205/60R15 road tyres.

I think the 25mm ipd front bar is excellent although highly rate getting excellent quality end links, I have popped too many standard ones.

Brand new genuine volvo is the best option Ive tried. Only 30k kms so far, not enough testing for me to recommend.

Other ones have torn apart where the rod section joins the round end.

So don't need a bigger diameter bar, just have proper adjustable end rods and dial in the body roll that way?

No the solution to snapping the end links is spherical joints.
