Acetone or if you have a servo with e85 that will do almost as well for cheaper.

With putting in a bunch of nuts to break stuff up. Not tried it but makes sense and will break up bits. Count going in and out too.
Ex850R
Peanuts?
egads (she/her)
Less likely to loose nuts and bolts type nuts. :-P
Ex850R
Get a little monkey?
volvodriverman
E85 monkey nuts are proving difficult to find :P
Being as the tank has 2 bungs in the bottom I've been pouring 20 litres of fuel in the filler with the bungs out & flushing that way, 10 times through & it's getting very muddy looking. Fingers crossed it's enough...
volvodriverman
She's alive, cranky cold start but hey, kjet. Gonna fuel it up & try this again...
egads (she/her)
Winner! Cleaned the shit out of the intank filter too?
volvodriverman
Turns out there is no intank filter...just sucks gunk straight into the pump.
egads (she/her)
Ahhhhh, balls.
Philia_Bear
Fail balls
volvodriverman
Starts, runs, drives, pedal box broke in half, back in shed...
egads (she/her)
Daaaaamn!
volvodriverman
Just got out of the drive, clutch pedal felt low, couldn't get reverse, pushed back down drive, need to weld things, went and had a delicious boozy lunch instead of torching it 8-}
Ex850R
As you do!
BTW , that steering wheel i meant was the 240 blue leather one! Next time Paul is over i will pass it on.
Les.
volvodriverman
Don't think that's for me...maybe Tig or Greg?
volvodriverman
So it's going. Cold start sucks balls, it fires up then sputters out, fires up again but barely runs til warm. Feels uber lean. Hot start sucks bigger balls, just cranks & cranks with no sign of life.
Have replaced every vac hose, intake & throttle body gaskets, injectors & seals are new, ignition system all new, the various pressures are all in spec, have set mixture via dwell to spec, I've subbed in 4 different control pressure regs & it's the same story on each, the fuel pump is new & check valve.
Yet to do the accumulator so maybe...or it's a vapour lock situation which is why they put the tank pump in after 76?!
It's making me crazy!
Ex850R
Sounds like when the accumulator needed replaced on my 245 '78...
volvodriverman
Good to know, that's next then!
Ex850R
I had Graeme at Berry's pick it before two workshops had a go fixing it to no avail , I neglected to mention it too them as too busy with work but John at Voldat had it in mind when I got it trucked to him (from Warrnambool....) Not an expensive fix , new ones are pretty cheap from what I remember.
