Any of the Falcon and Holden utes make Americans jizz at the sight...
Show me what Aussie cars would make Yanks jealous.

4wd version "starwagon"
They are still made and sold as new in China so parts are stupid cheap for them
Yeah, I've been looking at a lot of 4wd diesel SUVs and Vans. I think those would sell pretty well here in truck country.
What about any turbocharged straight 6 Utes or coupes??
XB Falcons sedans used to be a dime a dozen once.
If exported and done up to look like Max Max 'MFP' cars they would have been very profitable years ago, but perhaps not any more.
The prices of 70s and 80s OZ-made cars are high and getting higher. What once were $300 Falcons are now $8300+ princesses.

XR6 Turbo utes.
import written off VF wagons and utes and used broken chevy SS's to make LHD utes and wagons
Holden had the supercharged v6 in Tues.
Valliant Charger was always a cool car . My old man loved his

Volvo 780
There's plenty of them in the USA, and for not much money.
One of the 80 or so ex-Japan 780s might be good for OZ though, since they have headlights suitable for left hand traffic (which is normally RHD) .
Ex850RHolden had the supercharged v6 in Tues.
Do tell.....

Didn't realise a 1996 cut off...no, the turbos came in 2002
For anything Ford you want BA through to FG XR8 or turbo 6 (incl. Territory). The Barra 6 turbo and LPI (same bottom end) are the beasts.
Maybe an older than 96 V8 ite with the turbo 6 swap,it would be allowed here so maybe it could pass.
96 anything barra and just swap it to turbo after importation to USA
