I've never used anything but a impact gun for the crank pulley bolt
Never had a single issue

Everything installed no dramas. Have hand bled the rack as much as possible, final bleed will need to wait until @Philia_Bear rocks up tomorrow with some parts for the timing assembly. Otherwise the car is good enough that next step is to hand it over for inspection and see how it goes.
We have new brake hoses but I'm time-poor at the moment and the old hoses might pass so I'll leave them for now.

If you want to try, bring your slimmest gun with you tomorrow. Otherwise I just use the rope trick, which I've also never had trouble with.

Never put a foreign object between your piston and head.
Especially when subjecting the crankshaft to over 200Nm
All done, thanks @Philia_Bear
Update: Ron needed a new AMM desperately, and @Philia_Bear helped hook us up with that and some new windscreen wiper jets.
Yesterday I drove Ron to get blue slip from Sandy's Auto service in West Ryde. It passed blue slip, drove to get it registered right away. Every dog bites 47 unicorns ?
@jamesinc Put the plates on last night.
There are still more things to do but at least it is driveable and can legally be parked on the street now.
Something something turbo? :-)
Hahaha I'll settle for working aircon coming up to summer
Tough call working out what costs less, working a/c or turbo conversion

Pretty sure the turbo is cheaper tbh

Any idea what it needs yet,
Well the system is all there, it's just not got a belt on it. Presumably it leaks. I'll check sometime whether the compressor spins and the clutch engages. Knowing the PO he may have just removed the belt cos power loss or whatever
The Cleever needed a new compressor. I got a BNIB Sanden (OE) on ebay for about $450, to fit a White truck. Same model number and all that, but without the Premium Volvo Price. Receiver-dryers can be got from FCP for not many dollars.
I have had problems with the damned compressors seizing - The Noodle did it, The GoaT did it, even the Bertone did it on the way to Tamworth in May. But The Cleever's didn't, it just leaked.

Back in about 2003 or so my 940 needed a new compressor. Just for a laugh I phoned a Volvo dealer and got a price for an exchange compressor. When he told me the price the conversation went like this:
Dealer: $973 (!!!!!)
Me: Sorry, can you repeat that?
Dealer: $973.
Me: Did you say $973?
Dealer: That's right.
Me: Okay, thanks for your time.
A shop quoted me $850 to do the whole job, including a new compressor. No prizes for guessing which way I went.
Did the fuel filter, here's the guts of the old one. Last done January 2010, car has done 25,000 km since
Edit: report from @DecimalDuck says this has fixed the hesitation under load issue that developed earlier today. We had always intended to replace the filter but I was having her run the old fuel down a bit first.
One day I will get my car to a car-wash and finally take better care of that ageing paintwork.. but that was not this Sunday. No. This Sunday, Ron refused to have a bath by starting to cut out the engine while driving (couple of times on the same street). So new fuel pumps have been ordered..
The issue started on Saturday as a hesitation under load issue.. and it mostly went away when we gave him a full tank of fuel and replaced the fuel filter. Sunday it came back and then in the end, started to die out.
On the bright side, I made sure I had roadside assist on this car, so towing home was free because I was only 11km away. While I waited, I picked up a windscreen sunshade and a claybar kit.

Yeah the pumps are cactii. Couldn't hear the in-tank with the stethoscope and the main pump sounds unhappy. Realistically with the in-tank non-functional the main pump was on borrowed time anyway. So new pumps are on order.
Forgot to update this thread - we replaced the in-tank pump with a new VDO unit, and I haven't heard anything from @DecimalDuck since, so I imagine that means the car is running nicely :)

He's been driving great, feels very reliable when putting foot on accelerator now. Big change from how it felt to drive with all that hesitation from the in-tank pump being truly dead.
@jamesinc also took it for a test drive to put Ron through his paces, noticed the gears were holding on for too long so he adjusted the kickback.
James also pulled apart the gear selector panel to replace the bulb that lights up my gears at night, bulb was completely smashed to powder (by PO we assume), James always magically has spare bulbs for everything I've needed so far.
We've also taken the time to pull apart the tape deck and find out why it isn't working. There's a little plastic gear that drives the machine head that has absolutely turned to mush over time, so.... We'll figure something out for that. At least I've got radio and a great sound system.
Ron is now finally ready to get his first proper car wash in time for the show and shine at Oz Volvo 2019 nationals this weekend, also going to be using a claybar kit, then Bowden's Own paint cleanse and restore, then BO carnauba wax, maaaaybe finish with afterglow like they suggest as an after-wax-sealant, because my boy does live in the street, so he gets 100% of the sun all summer
