Alright, head is off, head gasket has failed between 1 & 2 as expected. There is some pitting in the head, whether or not it needs to be addressed I will leave up to the machinist. The internals are absolutely filthy, the intake ports are much dirtier than I usually see, and everything is caked up with a fair bit of carbon. You can see from the deposits that 1&2 haven't been burning the mixture properly, which is expected.
The bores are good though, and there's no ring lip that I can feel which is great. There's also a lot of oil crud in the head which was unexpected, but the oil and coolant passages all look to be clear which is good news.
Also of note, someone in here previously managed to fuck up what has to be one of the easiest gaskets on the motor. This is par for the course with this car.
