I've just finished some electrical work. The alternator had some issues that I think can be summarised as "the 55A Bosch alternator just kind of sucks". I also be a fair bit more electrical equipment in the car than it had in 1977, so I upgraded to a 70A Bosch AL157X.
At the same time, I also made a new engine harness, and increased the size of the charge cable from 10mm² to 16mm². I also made a new ground strap for the alternator of the same size.
Electrical system is much improved. The alternator is cranking out 14+ volts and output is steady from idle upwards.

The 70A sits pretty close to the oil filter!

I had to switch to 11x925 belts, and flip the upper tensioner bracket.
At the same time as this, I pulled the starter motor and replaced it with one of the older fatter starters. I did this purely because I like the sound of the old ones better.

I had this one on the shelf that @Major Ledfoot gave me many moons ago, I tore it down, gave it a clean and service, and repainted it.
