  • JDM 1993 Volvo 240 Tack spotted in Kyoto, Japan

I'm in Kyoto visiting the in-laws at the moment. While driving to the local shopping center, something caught my eye on a side street. I went back for a look and found this! It's a 1993 'Tack'. I'm going to head back in the next few days and see if I can get the back story on this.

They're called Ninja over there, and gawd knows what they say.
Buy it and ship it.
Worth money for rarity here.
Info on the Tack is scarce, but it seems to come with a locking diff
It looks like a UK Torslanda trim level, which is what they used for a number of the runout versions over the years.
Yep, what I got was a runout special but little info on what it had

I don't think the cost of bringing it to Australia from Japan would be worthwhile, but I may be wrong
Might be radioactive. :-)

As far as i know, all built date 1993 240 wagons had the word "Volvo" on the rear window, under the rear brake light.
This one does no have that.

if the rear window was ever replaced for any reason it would not still have it

How many in Australia? Would it be worth the cost and mucking around to get it imported?
Would it be allowed to be registered?
Such a waste for a rare 240.
