• Alex's 740T wagon

Vid of the previous 740T with my 760GLE.. <param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344">

[ ) Bought cheaply thanks to LT, The paint has been resprayed at some point, the previous owner rebuild the motor, it will need a cometic head gasket in the future as he put a thick one in there, it will get my 3" exhaust and 16T and 90+ mani and phelonic spacers and browntops and a wideband, then eventually my rebuilt strengthened AW71L that I have to rebuild.

The interior will be going to black door cards and front half with 940gl seats front and rear, and grey rear half.

I've actually raised the rear with pedders rear springs as i didn't like the one coil cut look on it, nor did I like the worn out shocks, got a set of Bilstein tourings on the rear. Going to put on jumbo fronts with either 740T stock springs or 940GL springs depending on which is a thicker coil as I want the height. it will also get the black steelies from the Green car and is getting it's stereo.

Um, yeah...

My new IC, that doesn't fit, will need smaller air box and such, cant' put a pod in :( Just a ebay one with pipes welded on forwards.

Tailights look awesome IMO, as does the V90 wiper.

Ran a 14.482@ 95.73mph. Needs bigger IC badly, only managed one run at that speed, the other fast ones once I worked out I could stall the car harder were 14.6's, had about 8 runs and peaked then dropped off from there. And of course the exhaust gasket is leaking on no1. Probably won't help and got worse as the night went on.

Still need to get rid of all the white spray marks that are on the windows and trims. But looks a lot better then it did, especially with the black pinstripe! Some older pics of the car in action.

Got my AW71L built, have a 2800 Stall converter built, HD clutches in the box, everything else has been inspected and I assembled it, the 4.10 diff from a 90' 740GLE has been pulled out, disassembled, Aussie locka fitted to it and new bearings fitted to the centre. Just need to do the torque arm bushes (have new poly ones to go in a spare set) and build my jaycar speedo adaptor and then I can start putting these bits in! 13's here I come!?

Specs:

 • Rebuilt b230FT with 13mm rods,
 • IPD turbo cam*
 • IPD Adjustable timing gear.
 • 4.10 diff with Aussi Locka
 • Ported 16T
 • Ported 90+ exhaust manifold
 • 3" Exhaust, Magnaflow Cataylic converter, 2 mufflers. Still loud enough.
 • 3000rpm Stall converter w/AW71L
 • Phenalic Spacers on the intake
 • BPR7ES plugs
 • Bilstien HD's all-around.
 • King springs rear springs,
 • 100amp 940 Alternator.

There are lots of other odds and ends I've missed, but that's the summary of it.

5% tint on the rear windows back, 30% on the front..

Not much, economy isn't very good of late due to the current AW71L being worn out, converter is still tight and the diff pulls 2600rpm at 100km/h.

That's a neat looking wagon, Alex. Do you run those wheels all the time?

Looks great Alex, and this is coming from someone who doesn't much like the looks of the 700's :) Where abouts in Melbourne are you? I can safely say that with the hills and trees in the pictures, that you aren't in Werribee :)

I'm in Mulgrave, south eastern suburbs. Had an ex in werribee though, very flat and plain.

I no longer run the steelies for the moment, using 760T sirius alloys with 205/60/15 Bridgestone T001 tyres. Thought I'd go for a different look for a while.

Made 136rwkw on the Dyno last week with this car. On united e100 octane fuel. Want more power but the next step is changing to megasquirt or similar. Will be doing the intercooler swap soon enough too. Though wedding planning and it happening soon sort of gets in the way of cars.

Good work Alex looks good all show and Go Zoom Zoom Zoom
Mmmm new seats! I need some too. Heater in the passenger side is not so good. And are all stiff and starting to crack.
Those wheels look way better than the steelies. Don't really know why, I normally like steel wheels.. Perhaps if they were bigger they would work for me? It is a very neat looking wagon but.. :-bd
Yep , i like the wagon , this colour combo and a V90 are my pick of the older series.
No seat heaters here, the cars heater works too well to bother with that!

I am wanting to fit the 850R 17's to my car when these tyres are worn out. Going to need to put longer studs on for spacers. Will look amazing with them though.
Hey Alex we have an 850R wagon with Volons coming in for wrecking soon, we just need to pick it up, you intrested in the wheels.
Factory alloy silver? Or want charcoal?
I like my bum toasty warm in the mornings when I head to work.

Been off the road for a while, auto and torque converter had issues, putting that back together soon though.

Cleaned, vht painted and titanium wrapped my downpipe as well as welding in another bung for the wideband o2 sensor I have. Rebuilt a distributor with a new Hall affect sensor and working on replacing the section of wiring in the engine bay to the sensor. Including a new plug. They run co-ax style cable which I'm replacing with co-ax cable that is better shielded than stock, I've had issues over the years with the wires causing the car to not run, wiggle/move them around and I have power again.

Installing the browntops back in with new filter baskets and nozzle caps etc, replaced my rear muffler for a stainless magnaflow from my old green 740 turbo sedan. Need to replaced my magnaflow catalytic converter as it was ceramic and they don't go well with turbo cars it seems...
Needs another turbo :O
BAHAHAHA. Time to hit the drags! I'll be pit crew!
