AshDVS Whats the significance of the rego plate change? WNN 320? instead of the YGQ rego you had before?
Vee_Que I had them sitting around for years even when I still drove the 760 the custom colours and slim front. Decided to finally call vicroads and transfer the plates to the Wagon as the 760 hasn't had Rego in 1 year and will be going on club plates.
Vee_Que It was the third gear clutch. Still not back together but I know what caused it. Freshly rebuilt torque converter. New bearings and lock up clutch. Auto has extra clutches fitted and Teflon seals instead of rubber. And valve body and accumulator mods. Also bypassing the radiator cooler finally to eliminate any chance of that failing into the trans. Into the giant pwr cooler that's been fitted for years. Also replaced the section of wiring to the distributor hall effect sensor that has been giving me grief for years on and off. Cut it just before it goes into the loom. Ordered new bosch plug from Efihardware.com. and used waterproof plug for the other end where it was cut. Combined with a rebuilt distributor I hope it will work well. I'll be fitting 17x7 and 17x8 rims to the car. Work BRS poison rims. May need to roll gaurds for then to fit.
Philia_Bear See my notes 17x7 with a 205/50/17 will fit no drama's up front 17x8 with a 225/45/17 fit fine in the rear, you can go with a 245/40/17 if you want as well and it fits fine but the handling will not be as nice
Ex850R Nice wheels Alex! What's the plan with refinishing ? Rebuilding them? These will look great on the wagon and an inch lower will be the bees !
Vee_Que 3 peice rims, already been polished, Not going to bother as the budget isn't there and they should look good. Just need to work out what tyres to pick F+R. Is there a choice reveiw guide for 17's as well?
Ex850R Will check. Will look for good online reviews if I can too but for me its got to be Michelin PS3s ....
Ex850R What happened to the old black leather front/s Alex? Still got em or one? My chair design calls for these or SAAB ones!
Ex850R Yeah , but then gasket needs done ( or glue? ) and although Ash can get em they would be a waste not to mention cost.........
deleted_user_160 I don't know if car and motorbike come out of the same factory as cars or not. Though we in the 2wheel world have seen a massive change in the top quality of michaline (5-7 years ago), drop completly as the changed to carbon belts. To pirelli who were ordinary off the track, to the top shoe avalable for any track and street bike. Sports bike to fighter to muscle bike.
Vee_Que I'm not pulling them apart so the unobtanium fasteners thing still makes no sense to me. According to that choice review for 16's the Maxxis rated best above Re002s, I will try them, if they are worn out in 15,000kms like re002s would be then I tried them and I'll go back to my Bridgestone t001's which are middle of the range.
Vee_Que So I rebuilt my own auto in the end. Broke the centre support housing with using too many clutches and not enough clearance. Pulled apart Again and replaced the burnt 2nd gear clutches too and centre support clutches. Car now goes like a rocket again. Rebuilt torque converter feels good. Wheels are on hold til I have my wideband fitted. Painted and wrapped my downpipe and my floor doesn't burn my feet now on trips. Pics soon.
Vee_Que Have not updated this in a while... Car tows, drives good etc. Till two weeks ago When the locker would lock and unlock on the left side unpredictably. Broke the ring gear carrier... Thanks to Elliot for his spare. Decided to put the 70l 940 tank I have had sitting around for years since I wrecked that out. With a Walbro pump as insurance. Wore out the 17s tyres, 205/45/17 front and 225/45/17 rears with maxxis tyres of some sort. Currently have re003s on the front and using it the ps3s I have. The 003s are newer, yet so much better than I remember the ps3s being.
