Ansett747 | Jonathan I am planning to repair the odormeter until when I have Volvo 740 GL. Where can I buy a correct cogwheel for my odor-meter and trip-meter? :)
Brad This might be too late but here is where I got mine from: http://www.repairsonly.com.au/VOLVO.HTML They're in Australia but I think they might use gears from odometergears.com
Ansett747 | Jonathan Just confirming. My Volvo has VDO Speedo and I'm not to sure which is a correct cogwheel to fit. The 26 tooth is most common for 700 series in North America. The 25 tooth is most common for 700 series in the U.K (and probably Europe).
Brad Mine has a 25 tooth gear. I think I ordered the small and large gears together as I figured that if the small one had broken the large one probably wasn't much better. Saves pulling it apart twice. Also, the odometer on the 740 still doesn't work properly even after replacing both gears. It's intermittent and tends to work when it's cold but after a while driving it just stops. Probably a bad solder joint somewhere but I haven't bothered to investigate.

Ansett747 | Jonathan I know this thread is out of date for over 2 years but I finally got the trip metre working!
Ansett747 | Jonathan carnut222 Great news! For future reference, was it the 25-tooth gear or the 26-tooth gear?I pulled out the old clogwheel and I counted 25 tooth. :)
