So the time has come for a rwd build thread on my newly acquired Volvo 121, the c30 has moved on to its new owner and the build starts!
Have been hard at it doing the interior,
-Sound deadening
- new door cards and trim
- Stereo
Spent an entire day with two mates cleaning her up, giving all the alloy a good polish and removing years of built up grime

Sourced a new diff (ford 8.8 lsd) and spend a day removing all of the original bracktry getting it ready to shorten

Spent a couple of weeks designing and manufacturing my new 4 link bracktry and lower coilover mounts these will slide over the ford 8.8 when its cut and shortened, the 4 link kit utilizes all of the stock pickup points and is a complete bolt on kit, we are just waiting on the custom billet 31 spine shortened axels to turn up and can the proceed to finish off the 8.8 disc brake rear end.

Spent some time on the bolt on upper coilover cradle this slides over the chassis rails and bolts into the factory bump stop mounts and various other mounting holes

New willwood non boosted disc brake master cylinder and proportioning valve has arrived and a converter plate to adapt it to the stock master cylinder mount

Intercooler turned up two weeks ago, fits really well but it required a little modification to the inlet tubes so that the bonnet could close

Removed the upright tubes and replace them with 90s also received a few other goodies in the mail

Mrp Remote oil filter relocation kit
Mishimoto 10 row oil cooler
Mishimoto baffled oil catch can
10an oil lines and an assortment of fillings and oil line stays

Alloy radiator and a few other parts are on their way and that should cover all of the cooling side of things hopefully will have some updates next week
The motor side of things is a little bit of a secret for now but I can tell you that it will be very impressive and mated to an Astro built World class t5 capable of supporting 600hp and 575 torque and a extreme twin plate clutch.
Whiteblock or 2jz turbo, though not much room for that.

Lots of progress! Going to cut holes to make the cooler pipe and oil cooler fit?

Yeah have worked out the whole build without altering the body in any way except for the holes for the intercooler and oil lines but when I want to return it to stock I can source a new radiator support. All original parts are going into storage including the original engine that's currently a box of parts,
Great project. Very interested to see how this turns out.
10/10 best project car on Oz Volvo
What about my hard labour James? It doesn't have a swanky diff yet, and I'm not secretive of my engine choice, but I started with a bare shell...
