After welding a fitting into the sump and getting the correct sensor for this 7 series oil temperature guage I discovered it doesn't work. It turns out the circuit board on the back has a piece broken off, I think that piece has two resistors on it, I can easily solder some resistors on where the bit of board was but I need to know what they were and how they were wired up. If anyone has a photo of the back of one of these gauges in good condition that would be appreciated.

Some pre-88 760 V6s may have an oil temp gauge.
The 780 has one as a standard fitting, but it's in Foreignheight. I thought I had a spare cluster with one in it, but seems I don't, it may have got lost in the move.
The Captain's right, although I've looked through all of my books, cannot find an oil pressure gauge for anything in 760
Here's a 780 in USA with the gauge but in °F, however the construction would be the same as yours
You'll probably have to buy a 780 to get the gauge out of it

It would probably have the same internals as a VDO oil temp gauge, at a guess

The problem will be getting it back to OZ, since it appeas the USPS aren't sending packages to our sunburned land at present.
This temp gauge is designed to work with oil sump plug sender p/n 1324625-1, which is (according to kakapart) VDO 323-801-004-031D or 323-801-004-031K.
Looking at the document here, we can see the temperature curves for this sender on page 3.
Wondering if the oil temp sender has the same curve as a coolant temp gauge? If so, swap the face of the oil temp gauge onto a coolant temp gauge?
