So just realized is been ages since ive updated this , alot has happened !!
so last time i posted i was converting the 264 to LH2.2, with the 2.5l B23 and M46 trans .
Well the 2.2 conversion went well , ive been running 2.2 fuelling with kjet ignition for some time now and it runs perfect .
the 2.5l motor and M46 went not so well haha
the 2.5L motor was great, for an hour and then got a bottom end knock . so that got ripped out and this is what i found
#1 and #4 rings snapped and caused all kinds of carnage inside .
so i cleaned up the old B21e and put that back in the car with the H cam installed .
the m46 box was great but it had a pretty bad leak , i was loosing over 1.5L of oil a week so i ended up getting a previously rebuilt M47 box to go in , its the smoothest volvo box i have ever felt !!
the b21e and m47 have been in for abit now and the car is going great .
A couple of weeks ago i updated the rear suspension on the 264 , previously i was running shortened adjustable Gaz struts up front with 60mm lowering springs and Bilstein B6 shocks in the rear with 40mm springs .
handling wise it was great but i was never a fan of the rake having the 60/40 setup
so i have changed the rear to Gaz shortened adjustable shocks and 60mm springs , it sits absolutely perfect now and rides beautifully.
anyone that has been following along on fb would know im at war with gearboxes , at 18psi the wagon just keeps destroying the aw71s .
the wagon was off the road for a few months while i tracked another aw71 down, that box got put in and blew up 10 days later , a couple weeks later i got another aw71, did the accumulator mod and got it in its been in for a few weeks now and feels great, it shifts so hard and fast it will chirp between gears if you're WOT .
but i know it will be short lived , i dont get long out of the aw71s especially if i put down anymore power which im hopefully about to haha
ive been talking to a tuner in sweden and he has sent me some tuning chips they suit my setup at 19psi they should produce around 300hp and 430NM they should arrive in the next couple weeks .
when they come im going to install them in a spare Ecu and Ezk and head to the dyno and do a few power runs comparing my current classicswede stage 3 chips vs the new ones and see which ones we will stay with .
i can already hear my aw71 cringing so i have decided its time to go T5 .
today i bought the start of my T5 kit i still have a few things to gather .
its an EL Falcon box with veeque adaptor plate and clutch kit/modified flywheel
looking forward to getting it all in its going to be a complete different car manual
