I found these to be jsut as bad as standard for light output , even the *70 headlights are crap , i set out to make the internals of Lexus ES300 twin projectors modded to fit into the buckets and use clear glass from the aftermarket style like you have on em.

I haven't found the output too bad... I leave home daily at 3am so always night driving...

Ahh thanks for the ad, unfortunately its on the other side of the country... which happens to be the case, nothing ever pops up in NSW

I'm betting it'd be in top condition. Owned by a mature enthusiast...

        That car is exceptional.

Worth shipping it to you at that price too.

A serious car for a serious buyer, very nice.

You gotta buy the best one you can no matter where.

        Fixing one up is expensive.

One owner from new as well . Sounds like a good history as well .

Fair call everyone, might reach out to the guy. thanks :)

I'd have to disagree with the majority here then, that motor has nearly 400k on it, no matter how well its been looked after its not a 10k car by a long shot, I'm all for high values in a rare 850 but come on, if you put another 100k on that car who's going to buy it off you with half a million on it??, walk away now, far better cars will come up for 10k than that guaranteed.

If rather spend 2k on a shed with 200k on it and 8k doing it up, least you know what you have then and spend the money on the right things.

It is a WA car so long highway miles. Single owner in that condition is good sign it was looked after properly.

A motor rebuild when needed doesnt make it too much to spend on it even at 10K , you just dont get one owner cars anymore like this!

And remember, there are not many imported and lots are ruined now or wrecked already.

Again, a high mileage long distance driven car is not the same as a city driven one with even 250,000 k on it.

Also, cars cost a bit more in WA because of small pool of available cars.

I've seen Volvos with 640,000klms on original motors still going, but regular maintenance kept them going, engine rebiulds are easy enough so long as everything documented.

Check for things like cv drive shaft replacement, gearbox serviceing, wheel bearings replaced etc

I think the main point everyone misses here is that it is a rare car in Oz, the body is a big expense to fix on a crappy cheaper one and interior on these is not available new anymore and existing plastics are brittle , getting a great cosmetic example is paramount.

Mechanicals are a cost but if needed , once fixed its 20 years of use added on. The fact its one owner and in such good condition would seal it for me.

Agree with snoopy, you want a 850R then you buy one, you will wait forever trying to find the percect car, meanwhile they are getting harder to find and more expensive.

Also I wouldn't ever trust what the dash says on any 850, until you have read the combi module then km are a guess.

I still stand by what I wrote, I paid 5k for a 300k black 2 owner 854 t5r about 3yrs ago, as I said I'm all for high prices on rare car's but 10k is too much, I wouldn't pay it but each to their own, we'll agree to disagree ?

Cosmetics is far more important than a high km motor. One owner, full history... Heck he probably has original purchase receipts... Just coz he's asking 10k dun mean that's the final price. My wagon was advertised at 10k I paid 6500
