Have you driven an 850r yet Ed?
NSW 850 turbo
Yeah 2x both auto not wagon. Also drove a v70r auto which I thought to be not as fun.

My 855R was a manual , new clutch , it was a pain in the knee in city and twisty roads the 5sp box is shite ratio wise , the M66 from later car is better bet , actually all the auto V70/S70 turbos i had were more fun to drive than the manual , you bump the line pressure in the auto up and it shifts quick and hard and has better ratios for a FWD turbo car. The V70R needed a massive boost in power to be more fun but the fact it didnt spin the front wheels all the time was brilliant! A better rear end setup on the AWD too.
IF i was getting a P80 again it would have to be AWD and auto and use a later RN block engine at 2.4lt as the diff btw the 2,3 and even its 2.4 big brother ( so called LPT with a higher comp ratio and 100ccs more ) is a better motor for driveability. So build one up out of a good solid 850....
The m59 at 110km/h sits at 3k...not nice on the highway it's just on boost

The bell housing Dosnt bolt to the turbo jimbo, just saying?
How much boost were you running
2 Bar.. 29psi ?
The red mist came down at the Drags, kept turning up the mbc, think the main cause was worn subframe bushes which caused a twisting effect hence the crack.
The turbo and engine were not harmed in the making of the gearbox death ?

29PSI....yee gods....
I read today the auto 850Rs are different spec to the manuals.
I put a link up today to an article about it and 850Rs history.
https://garagedreams.net/buyers-guide/volvo-850-t-5-t-5r-and-850r-buyers-guide-2020Apparently Italian 850Rs are 2ltr turbo so that they fall into a different tax bracket there.
I'm looking for another P80 V70T5 at the moment as I've decided I'd like a 'toy' that I'll keep.
There's a build thread on my last one, here -

The Focus is 'better' in just about every way, but I just don't like it as much and rather than build something so that I can better understand a platform and translate that to product, I just want to build something that I like.
I think I'm onto one, but progressing that to seeing a car and handing over some cash needs to wait until the current state of Victoria calms down a little.
I've been hoarding parts over the last while so already have a fair stash of decent and hard to find P80 platform oddities.
For me, I'd love a yellow T5R but cant justify the spend. an 850R is a 'better' (slightly) car but isnt as rare and an S70T5 or V70T5 is essentially an 850R anyway.
I dont want an AWD car. They're heavier, lazier to change direction, the AWD is a sap of power and they just dont feel as fun to drive.
Good HPT cars are really hard to come by. If you're chasing one now, grab the first passable one you can and address the thing over time.

There's a manual 760 turbo in mascot that looks nice.
Was a couple weeks ago, could be gone

Still kicking myself that I didn't jump on that green R manual sedan for 2k around 6 months ago in Perth ?

If I was close enough I'd kick you as well ?

It was Green ? allergic to green ?

Euro headlights would suit your t5
I found these to be jsut as bad as standard for light output , even the *70 headlights are crap , i set out to make the internals of Lexus ES300 twin projectors modded to fit into the buckets and use clear glass from the aftermarket style like you have on em.
