Greetings,

Bought this sight unseen from NT 3months ago first classic car might be a good idea or bad idea time will tell! (Ad exaggerated the condition of the interior)

First car was a 240GL then a 760GLE its been around 10years since I’ve owned a Volvo.

What has been done so far?

• Service…big service…. $$
• Front seats replacement new covers, rubbers springs etc (VP Autoparts) - No photo of this yet
• Hella H4 headlights - before and after photo included
• LED globes for reverse, break, parking and indicators - Pohot included

What is being done now? (Due to pick up the car next couple of days)

Interior

- Headline trim (new insulation in roof)
- Wind lace
- Door trims
- New rear seats
- B pillar
- Sun visors
- Grab handles

Exterior

- New seals all windows
- New 122s emblems sides and front grille Volvo badge

Engine

- Camshaft etc
- Extractors / sports exhaust

Dumping photos including the day I first saw the car from the truck. Some are not in the right order and the front door trims are off due to some idiot gluing the door trims on and the car needing new rubbers. Thats a good way of destroying them....

Will take photos of the changes mentioned above over the weekend.

Looks good. Was the engine in need of work, or did you just decide to go for an upgrade?
Greed wanted more power and a better sound out of the engine. Was surprised the amount of stock power it had however :)
Wow sweet! Love the dark blue. Looks same colour as my 68 145. Following!
Nice. What cam did you go with? Did you increase the compression too?
D-Cam, compression no idea will ask for the detail once I pick it up.
Ah. It's not actually a very big cam for a street cam, and you definitely want to know the compression, at least 10.5:1

Nice looking car - hope you still have it. I am about to put my 122 back on the road. I have 14" ford rims at the moment and will either go back to stock or the minilites? you have. If anyone is reading this will the stock rims handle a 185/65 tyre ok? Any suggestions. I am also after an engine rebuild (B18) - fairly standard although a more 'modern' cam profile and higher compression ratio might be worthwhile.

Any suggestions? I am based in Tas.

I found this online. What's the width of the original rims - I'm thinking 4.5 inches, but can't recall.

Thanks for the reply. They are listed as 4.5" but I suspect that they might be 4" ...... I can't make out what is stamped on the inner rim - just has 'volvo import' and a number stamped on the outer. It is difficult to find info on what wheel would be a good replacement - maybe 16" x 5.5/6 with a lower profile tyre? I'll keep searching. Looking at the chart you found I might need to drop to a 160/170 x 65 x 15 width for the originals depending on what is available.

regards Ian
