After finding a cracked casting for exhaust stud on my project car I'm seeking a 531 head in serviceable condition.
Please let me know if you have anything available
Cheers
Dave
I have a good 530 head if a 531 proves difficult to get a hold of.

Thanks mate but I'm 99% sure I have a spare 530 in usable condition sitting in my shed.
Have 4 unused genuine volvo turbo manifold studs - PM if you need some.

I've actually only got one at the moment and its set to be used on my 240 sedan

But I don't care about your 240...

From about 1990 onwards in any of the RWD models, but later than that if it's turbo. I think. Always check the casting!
Klaptrap24;c-139239 wrotemy '91 got the 530 :(
Yeah it's not a hard cut over
Only non turbo 940s, late 92 and 93 240s with b230fx and no turbo redblock was made with a 531. They all got 530s with sodium in the exhaust valves
And the '85 760 Turbo had a 531 according to Anthony Hyde's site.

You're not missing out. In fact the 530 actually suits low-midrange more than the 531. But you can always improve on your 530 to make it better at the top end

My 940s had a 531 from the factory
Pretty sure I have at least 2 other T motors here with factory 531
Yeah I could swear they run a 531 head on the later turbo motors like the FK
Strange, all the FT engines I have owned and seen have had a 530
Here's a thought, I have a spare 530 head in great condition, is the difference in flow that notable? Car will be road driven, b230fk with 90+ and 15g etc...
No I don't think so. Not to mention the reduction of compression ratio due to the slightly larger chambers, so it's even. Perhaps a tiny bit more top end but a loss of low end.

If you wanted to, you could have the spare 530 worked on, and how much better than a 531 you wanted to make it would be akin to the thickness of your wallet
