Who wants my 240 tirbo for free???

All you need to do is help/teach me through assembling the motor for my new 240 turbo project and slinging it back into the engine bay.

Not sure if anyone is interested but I like to learn and would happily swap my current car for the knowledge and help

I accept

Edit: okay, I accept, if we can figure out a way to bridge the state divide

I'm in coffs harbour but pending negotiations I'll trailer the car somewhere. As of right now it's in a small shed but big enough to work.

Putting a t5 behind it too. Thanks
I can definitely walk you through a full rebuild on a redblock (from just a basic teardown and seal/gasket renew to a full rebuild, i.e. head and block disassembly, replacing piston rings and bearings, lapping valves, checking clearances - some things you need a machine shop for, such as replacing valve guides/seats, polishing cranks, overboring, etc)

T5 conversion I'm not so knowledgeable on, my help there would probably just consist of hitting you with a stick until you buy a Vernier caliper, a steel rule, and a machinist's square.
James I'll pm you when I sit down for smoko.
Cheers mate
Bring it down to Melbourne :p

Why are you assembling the motor again?

When I got the car it was just a block in the engine bay and the rest of it in the boot in parts.

Was suspect blown hg but turns out was a failed oil cooler mixing coolant in
I thought he'd rebuilt the motor not much earlier!?

Apparently so, but I got the lot in parts and although mechanically minded, not confident and stumbling through such an important task myself
