Here's a few pics from when I was working out the turbo placement. It was quite a struggle as it's so large.
I was trying to keep the turbo as far back as possible to allow room for the pod filter. Too far back and you run into power-steering pump clearance issues which later I decided to delete.
Holding the turbo up with a strap and blocks of wood. I then tack welded a piece of SHS tube from the manifold to the turbo flange.
I could already see there would be fire with the hot side so close to the PS pump. I chose to ignore that issue and hope it would go away.
Shaped a piece of tube for the cross over pipe. That was a fun 4 hours to get it perfect...
Tacking up the cross over pipe.
Tacked read for TIG work:
Welding up the 3.5" dump pipe. This was the most fun of the build.
As you can there is hardy any clearance between the pipe and coils.
As the dump bends down there was only about 15mm clearance from the manifold and the firewall.
Under neath the car
Here you can see I have removed the powersteering pump to give access to the wastegate dump pipe. The gate is a 45mm Turbosmart.
Plumbed back into the dump pipe with a some crappy stainless mig welds. The wire was a bit too big for the welder feeder so I'll get a friend to touch that up with his TIG.
Another good chat
