Not up on rules but be aware that customs duty also kicks in at different levels by the looks of it so if you can stay under that magic value level regardless of GST happy days.

If not customs will be calling for their slice of the pie and by the looks of it Australia Post has now taken over parts of this role so its just one big cluster f

Customs aren't changing their processes. The new GST relies upon sellers being registered for GST, which I don't really expect businesses like Kaplhenke to do (would he even turn over more than $75k annually in Australian sales?)

Some of the larger businesses like FCP are now applying GST at checkout.

Australia Post is only involved when it is used as a forwarding service, e.g. ShopMate. That's presumably to stop you from using a forwarding service to avoid the GST.

Edit: if you have family in the US or Europe, they would be the best forwarding service to use now.

Hi guys. I picked up some of the Kaplhenke BNESelect offset strut mounts, and the luxe bearings recently. Unfortunately didn’t come across the proposed group but early enough.

Anyway a couple of things have come up.

1st there was a machining error with the luxe bearing to strut top seat. The inner bore wasn’t machined quite large enough to sit onto the strut top. It was only a small amount out and I was able to enlarge with some dremeling.

Second problem, and this may be difficult to explain, but I’m using a bump stop which sits at the top of the strut shaft, and the dust boot attaches to it. The shape of the bump stop, and the shape of the underside of the spring seat means that the top of the stop can’t meet the underside of the strut top bearing as it sits above the spring seat now due to the luxe bearing and adapter.

It’s as if the bump stop needs to be one that just grips the shaft and can sit below the spring seat somewhere, or not run a bump stop and dust boot at all.

I’m going to solve the problem with a few washers. I imagine a different, more pointy bump stop may work also.

I’ll post a few pics of this later.

Other than that it’s a nice kit that will certainly be longer lasting than the rubber strut tops available at the moment.
