I am down for a group buy
240 strut mounts
a month later
@jamesinc
@heavy_dd
@robsta77
I was thinking of ordering the mounts from Kaplhenke, are you still down for a group buy?

Yes I’m definitely in. How do you go about payment and shipment? Where are you located?
If you are doing a group buy, add me to the list.
Also if you're organising a group buy, you need to get in touch with Ben and work out an expected completion date for X number of units, and price per unit including shipping.
Yeah I've discovered that through trying to order a set of roll centre adjusters.
I'll add you to the list, and once I've established the numbers, get in touch with him and report back.

Yeah I'd like a few things from him I think.
I can ask if you like, but if you're after a few things, it may work out better for you to place your own order - the weight may end up making it more costly...
Fair enough, maybe I'll keep it simple with the group buy240;137088 wroteI can ask if you like, but if you're after a few things, it may work out better for you to place your own order - the weight may end up making it more costly...

Uhhh I'm tentatively in, I wanted some of those control arm spacer things
Edit: man i didn't realise they were $300 US. Maybe I'll pass

No worries.
@robsta77 And @bgpzfm142 (and @heavy_dd if you end up being in too) - they do two different versions of the mounts, I was just going to go for the cheap ones. Do you have a preference?
@GingerNinja - did you order yours with Luxe Steer? And are you using standard style springs?240;137115 wroteNo worries.

@240 I'll wait for a reply from @GingerNinja before indicating a preference.

I didn't get the Luxe steer bits with mine because I had to draw the $$$ line somewhere and I wanted the quick steer roll correction spacers more. I'm using modified strut tubes with smaller Eibach springs as the standard spring seats wouldn't clear wider wheels and tyres.bgpzfm142;137117 wrote@GingerNinja - did you order yours with Luxe Steer? Yeah I'm still keen
ill go for cheaper set with luxe steer option for 2.5 inch springs.
Thanks @GingerNinja.
@240, I'll go for these if you can do better than $185 USD per kit, if you do the GB in about a month's time.

@bgpzfm142 no worries.
When you say better than $185 per kit... do you mean it's worth asking if he'll do a discount since we're buying multiple kits, or because shipping will be cheaper in a GB?
Does anyone know what the Luxe Steer actually does? I feel like it's the sort of thing I don't need but would be interested to know.

I'm fairly sure when I bought them for my 740, Luxe Steer was essentially an adaptor allowing me to run standard struts and springs.
I had a few issues with it, and ended up needing thick 16mm washers normally used in a BMW bike application as it wasn't as tall as a standard strut mount. The entire assembly was also quite a bit taller than the standard strut top, so I had to order custom springs to compensate.
When I asked him about this, he suggested using those strut tops with his coilovers was the best solution.
I have no experience with his 240 products yet, and his 240 strut tops do appear to be a much better design (that won't freak out the average wheel alignment guy) but unless you have first hand experience with them I'd probably buy one pair to evaluate before diving into a group buy.

@240 keep me in the loop, it sort of depends on timing but I'm definitely still interested in a pair of the 240 Offset Spherical Strut Mounts with stock spring perches ($299)
Not tempted to get the DIY coilover kit and do away with the stock springs?
