I always thought a bit of rolling on the rear guards would help the look of the car and also allow for better fitment as the rear track is slimmer than front anyway.

Rollers are cheap.

Yes agree , I've still not seen a wagon with the rear guards done to see what it looks like ..

Bit of an update / captains log , I cleaned the drivers side aircon as well and all is good .
Been driving to work one day a week ( 18k round trip ) and weekend driving and can't fault it , so all is good .
I've gone slightly bigger with the front brakes , from 320mm to 336mm . Our legend @AshDVS for the new rotors and pads ?

It's still in the shed so haven't tested them yet but it's the final front brake upgrade lol next will be the rears to tackle. With the rears I'm getting a slight rub and it's wearing out the plastic inner arch so with that in mind, changing to the V70 brembos the kit comes with 3mm spacers. Now in my mind that'll throw the wheel out 3mm more , more rub so I've got 3° camber plates to go on so hopefully no rub .
I just enjoy the ride now at the weekends , it's all come together nicely at last ?

Glad we got the pad worked out for you - it's always a bit difficult trying to be 100% sure when we start talking about brake conversions. Keen to hear what you think about it once you've driven it a bit more too.

I have a very light bit of rubbing of the LR wheel on the arch liner on mine, but I have only done a stringline wheel alignment and need to put some effort into aligning it all better when I have some more time (and am a bit more enthused again :) )

Rolling the rear guards and retaining the wheel arch liners, given how they're fitted would actually be difficult - I think you'd be making the call as to whether you may wish to retain them or not.

In my case, dropping to a smaller or a less square tyre than the Pilot Sport 4 would likely solve the issue.

Had to pull over today and take a picture ? .

Last three days clocked around 600 ks and all is well drove roughly 300 ks today.

@AshDVS brakes are fantastic mate , definitely a clear difference now, and so happy with the outcome . ??

Monthly update , I changed jobs 4 weeks ago and gone back to work with an old company I help to set up 7 years ago . Down side is its in Bunbury 90 minute drive so I stay down there for the week .

Alternating between the R and the xc . Can't fault the R but the roads down there sure aren't built for lowered cars ? the xc just breezes over the bumps and lumps roads .

I'll be changing the radiator soon so any recommendations fellas ? This'll be the third one soon . I'm possibly thinking a manual radiator as have the ipd gearbox cooler and bypass the radiator piping. Anyone done this ?

I think I need to change the top mounts again as the suspension took a pounding this week and also (for the first time) had people in the back and the tyres scrubbing over every bump . Think I need to drive the xc more and leave the R at home ... hmmm

Got my last new one from UK , Mark says he ca get but not Volvo , now left , BUY ALL THE PARTS NOW AS THEY WONT MAKE EM ANYMORE < no market left as all going to HERTZ and VOLTZ.

unfortunately not, FCP but it was here in like a week. Is yours leaking?

Also got a nissens, prob like 4 or so years now, no probs. FCP euro it was from. Thankfully now I have none of that external cooler stuff, manual swap and late model sump.

From the plastic end tank? Mine had a small leak too but I continued to drive it, as long as you top up the coolant it should be fine until you get a new one.

So since having three passengers in the car and the amount of rear scrub I'm not taking the car down bunbury for work .

Today took the rear wheels off and spacers off ..

I'm going to get 4mm shaved off the hub side to stop the rub as wheni convert to the V70R calipers the kit comes with a 1.5mm spacer ( idid think it was 3mm ) so 4mm should be good , no rub .

I'm using clear silicone as I know it'll hold but I'm thinking of plastic welding it tomorrow witha soldering iron tomorrow as well to bond it .

Monthly update then ...

I had 4mm shaved off the rear spacers and no rub so that's a win

Changed the wheel caps to bbs and think they look better than the Jag ones

Used the car for work this week and totally forgot how low it is . Thought I ripped the splitter off

It's not too bad but many words were shouted at myself ?

Finally bought new rear badges

They look much better.

Then Friday the glovebox didn't want to open so followed Roberts video of drilling a hole and open it that way, worked a treat

I never really noticed the scaring on the dash pad , looks like someone else had a go in the past hmmm .

Bought a house two hours away south from here in Collie to be closer to work so will be focusing on that now , upside is it has a double garage yey . Busy busy !

Bunnings have a resin kit that will fix the splitter , redesigned mine after removing it from front bumper , left it over night to harden , next day makita multi tool , sand paper and 15mins later it was ready for respray , Im hoplessat spray painting so got local panel beaters to colour match splitter to top of bumper , looks better and almost factory.

Those jag wheels look fantastic.

That looks great Stewart , I was surprised mine didn't crack or brake what with the sound it made . I should take it off really and get it repainted at some time .

Mine was riveted on so I converted it to 5mm stainless Allen key bolts , stainless nylock nuts with large 5mm stainless mud guard washers that are a much larger diameter.

Did that as the plan is to redo the splitter every 2yrs , I originally put it on to protect the no longer available 850R front bumper which it has done after lowering the car 30mm.

I've bought a ratty 850R steering wheel off the bloke that own Wolfs Garage on Facebook.

He's making new resin 850R front bumpers in both white and black.

I got the auto selector reupholstered locally , he had exactly the same coloured leather and copied the double stitching, cost was $120 cash but well worth it for the qaulity of leather and workmanship.

I've just got over the weekend of hell changing the radiator (3rd one) . I thought it'll only take me a couple of hours not 2 days lol . When I eventually got it all in and topped up I fired it up and both the engine and gearbox coolers leaked . Turns out the connector that bolts to the radiator there were no o-rings and leaking from there so i found 4 and fittedthem ....

Happy days no leakage but the four clips that hold the hoses on have seen better days , so a thread on here and a forum member to the rescue .

Oh to top it off , I closed the bonnet for a drive then opened it and the cable to the left hand side popped off and wouldn't release , that was the icing on the cake ?

The v70xc is suffering coolant loss atm and I'm pointing the finger at the heater matrix old and blocked another on the way so hopefully that'll fix that thing . Really getting board of that one , hmmm .

This one is a 4 row radiator , thought I'd go all Ali again

I'm interested in how you got rid of and went with internal coolers ..
