Yesterday ( Monday) evening I attacked the left delta link and a good coating of wd40 . This side bracket has the hand brake attached as well as the exhaust hanger but no real problems . I took some dodgy pictures

You can kind of see that yep definitely needed changing . No wonder I was getting rear end squat on pull off , even light pull off the rear would squat .

Next , trailing arm bushes . Then all suspension has been done ✔️

Just more of a mental note to self, drove the car to work and back today . Fantastic , no squating , good . The bad , the black cap on the overflow bottle , I knew it was a punt when I bought it

Not for this car , slight boil over . Will wait for new one ?

Few months back , I think I put the feelers out for someone who can solder . More to the point solder blue LEDS into window switches. Later I received an email from our illustrious leader James @jamesinc offering help .

Well the said switch arrived Friday and I fitted it Saturday morning .

As you probably know the 850 window switches stay on with the ignition . Nice and bright and NO green , just what I wanted . A few pictures

A few PM's back and forth James found the solution for the leds for the window switches and I've got to say I'm very happy with the outcome .

I just took the pictures a couple of hours ago as I got sidetracked into polishing another inlet manifold , this is just a picture of it with some paint stripper on before I got on with it...

This one has a 3" TB , again from our 850 legend @Jamest5r_ nice one Jimbo ? . I had plans of going to a cars n coffee today but didn't want to risk it so spend the day getting covered in crap polishing the manifold .

Flap disc 10 minutes in lol

Flap disk then 120 sand paper , 400 w&d 800 w&d 1200 1800 2000 then a polish with Mother's and a clen off the crap with petrol .

I'll polish the fuel rail as well , I sanded off the hard anno , damn that stuff is hard hence hard anno I suppose

The inlet is drying from some paint atm hopefully will look good tomorrow .

In the end it turned out really well, but I can see why more people don't attempt this, it was pretty fiddly! Disassembling the switch pack without breaking it is difficult.

Bit of a monthly update then , tbh not a lot as been concentrating on the new job and house etc etc . Been looking like this for a while

But I did attack the boot after talking to the mrs . We agreed it looked let's say crap so went back to original with the pioneer box . What it looked like with box

So I retrimed it in vinyl and alcantara

Also have this in mind for later ....

I have two of the Castrol ones as well

Now those slate fiber Vocal speakers at 16cm I fitted them didn't like them wrong size and totally my fault for believing they'd fit . So sold them and now running the same front and back

Much better .

Hopefully will be able to concentrate on getting it back on the road in December , hmmm ? .

December's update then , Saturday dropped off the R for some surgery. New head gasket , stem seals , all other seals and gaskets . New air con system . Inlet manifold with 3" . I also polished the fuel rail , polished the Inlet . Find and fix the oil leak on the turbo , hopefully its not the turbo .

Wish I took a picture of the boot as it was pack full of new and polished parts . Ahh looking forward to air conditioning for the summer ?

If you want to upgrade turbo a bit, Iceton has many sitting on shelf off P3 T6 3.0lt motors, cheaper than any upgrade type for P80.

Would be a great upgrade.

I either need a turbo or valve seals.....the turbo is really cheap,the other notsomuch......

That's where the 6 disc auto changer sits optional extra on the 850 ?

The arrgh ?‍☠️ sails again now with no smoke

So , got the car back yesterday afternoon. New head gasket , stem seals and all seals related . Had a look at the old gasket and it was very close to expiry so good call on getting that done . Valve stem seals were extremely hard and that was the cause of the smoke /oil . Turbo wise in top condition.

Air conditioning replaced along with new compressor, I've just got to get it gassed up sometime next week .

Verdict, very happy , down side I've got to drive it as a daily for a couple of weeks as dropped of the xc for some repairs ?

I just remembered the bad ? , I need yet another radiator at some point , I have a slight leak . Flicking back through the pages I changed it July 2019 so it'll be the third time this needs doing.

So do I go all aluminium again , do88 or a standard one ? I personally think those do88 are a bit pricey at $800+ hmm

Get PWR at a higher cost but never look back...... Ask Ash.

Recko you can put larger diameter RIP tubes and silicon , gives mucho grande more boost fun.........

I'd either be opting for a new oem one (also $) or a PWR if you have time to organise it.

If going to a PWR replacement, I'd move to an external trans cooler at the same time.

Steve , you still running the IPD Auto cooler.

Even better if you are! Makes the radiator choice a bit easier.

The IPD one is really good as it's actually a Setrab cooler. I have one here but am missing some of the mounting hardware, so if either of you @rado or @242GT are using one, I'll annoy you at some point and ask you nicely to measure some things for me. :)
