I'm sat in the shed and been reading or trying to find how to take an airbag apart

Just want to get into it and take the bag out and put it together again so it'll never deploy when eventually inthe car ...

I've never seen triangular nuts before

Didn't find anything online so placed it in a vice and gingerly cut the melted plastic nubs off then punched them through

Then opened it up and stabbed it many many times with a Stanley knife ?

Never know , just in case. Then just really took the bag out

Back together again , glued up and leave for a day or so

Shame I can't take the cylindrical thing out but the bracket that bolts to the glovebox bolts to it .

Sheds looking a pit again ?

You could have left it unplugged put a resistor on the plug wire.

Last couple of weeks been using the car as a daily and can't fault it apart from cleaning the out side every 2nd day lol ( hate a dirty car ) . One more week of sick then back to it , full time . No crutches or moon boot , be nice to get a pay cheque again , something I've missed ?

Seen as I'm not working for at least a few more weeks got on with the boot floor monday , stared with some pvc 24 mm thick

Cut a hole the a ring and drilled a 6mm channel in in 15mm deep ( wish I had a router) for the new grill . Then placed it in the hole , 3mm packers underneath, silicone and screwed it then filled all , grinding down the metal tabs as much as possible.

Today ( Tuesday)

Sanded it all down ready for the vinyl . This point just went for it

This is part Onof the 2 piece grill

This'll slide in the channel then gets screwed down then the top piece

Once the ring was screwed down , upside-down again with some weight for a few hours to dry

Later in the afternoon, back on the topside the 2nd piece on then siliconed around it

At the moment, not sure . I have enough vinyl to do it all again. See what it looks like tomorrow.

This afternoon I just trimmed the right hand side up

Nice and easy , around 20 minutes done , its not dried yet so will shrink back by tomorrow. Left hand side I'll tackle tomorrow as I'm going to have to build some kinda small box on top as ...

....it has the autochanger there . Doesn't need to be that high or full length as the original .

I have a couple of them , the left one is original to the car so will keep that for safe keeping. I'm keeping an open mind atm , will see once it's all back in the car . If I don't like it I'll leave it to the pro's for later on .

I'm coming to the conclusion that my diy boot build is going to look shit ! Non the less I'll finish what I had in mind just too see how crap it's going to look ....

Then made a 60mm high box out of 24mm pvc panel glued and stapled and painted satin black

Might screw some hinges on the back of the lid , but just looks crap . I'll wait for the vinyl to dry and shrink back and try it in , but at the moment I'm thinking the boot will probably look better with the original 2 piece floor back in with a damn good clean hide the amp under the floor with a decent sub in a box somewhere in the boot ?

Thanks Ash ? . Yeah it does look OK , I know what pissed me off yesterday. It's the little box I knocked up yesterday as when the paint dried I put a square on it and one of the mitres was out a tiny bit throwing the rest out , only slightly but enough. I didn't check before painting it . The rest , right hand and centre are in fitted so I'll have a look later .

The vinyl is a lot thinner than carpet and as you can see the middle bit needs shuffling down a bit to cover the gap . Maybe open the holes out on the two brackets where the 10mm bolts go through and bring it back . I like the idea and maybe worth covering the centre section again to make it slightly thicker maybe the answer. I'll keep at it , not going to throw the towel in just yet .

Bit of a captains log today . Last night I gee'd myself up to fit the matrix new pipes , thermostat and bottle today

This morning and nada not into it . Maybe tomorrow. So instead done a little bit of polishing

Car is still going well apart from its starting to use / loose water . Oh and need to change the oil gasket on the turbo . Still smoking..

Also have a 3" 960 on its way ..

Hey I was reading a thread today with you in from 2011 . I recon my valve stem seals have gone . From what I've read and my symptoms sounds very similar .

I've been around a while lol ?, OS atm mate back mid June and I'll make a plan to get it to you, it's ported and matched to the tb so will save you some work ?
