Nah the same as yours but let me know one weekend and I will come down and you can go for a spin. I say it would be on par with your ARD green tune its just refined. Nothing relay blow 3k as I have chocolate rods but after that yes she is fast for a stock 2.3 volvo it was all about reliability for me with standard bolt ons. Tune it for whay I have safely.

I don't have the spare$$$ currently to build motor other wise I would of if I change things eg rods or bigger turbo later on I will just approach Aaron and pay for a retune.

Finally got a couple of niggling jobs out the way today . Firstly put the door rubbers back on , pretty easy with the right clips . I'd like new rubbers at some point , around $120 a door . For the life of me I can't remember the site I found them on .

Second job , seal the roof rails . Could not find appropriate rubber for this , mine are shot so sealing it is . Nice easy job .

Obviously clean the roof etc , appropriate black silicone, pop sticks and water with a dash of washing up liquid.

Really doesn't matter how much silicone you use on things like this , just make sure both surfaces are dry..

Then wet the area , wetter the better

Then with your pop stick into the silicone go from one end to the other in a nice smooth stroke . You can stop and scrape off the excess if needed as I did . Then another dose of the spray bottle and a final finger to smooth it , done .

I'll give it 24 hours to dry and then have a look and clean . It's a nice thin point and I really don't see water getting through.

Today it's time I got one of those jobs out the way . Flicking through the pages how time flies, I had the catch tank fitted nearly a year and a half ago . Too busy with work a local garage fitted it . I remember picking the car up and jumping down the guys throat, hears why .....

I do remember saying that there is an outlet near the bottom for it . So all off and I've siliconed the hole up

You can see they didn't even cut the hose straight, anyway I have new hose and waiting for the silicone to dry .

While it's all out I'm going back to the Pierberg rather than the mbc . And finally fitted the throttle cover

Does make it look a bit more cleaner I think .

Ankle wise , I'm hobbling around pretty good one one crutch. Bored to hell and thank fook I have some savings as my sick pay ran out four weeks ago ☹ . Other news , my neighbour gave me a top tip , white vinegar...... ( wish I took a before picture) the bore water has been hitting the tt and basically turned it white , not happy especially as it's had a respray not 6 months ago . So best $2 I've spent , white vinegar

Nigh on everything in that picture was white , couple of hours on it this morning and it's nearly back to normal ? wheel was a pain but almost there ..

Edit: I've been sitting waiting for the silicone to dry and its dawned on me I don't need the car to be running so actually I'll give it a good 24 hour to cure . Usually I'd have something like this fitted back on , I'm an inpatient bugger so the wife tells me lol so I'm learning to calm down ?

My new dash pad arrived last week from Mark (Berry cheers mate ) and surprisingly it's near perfect and coming from an R it's gray .

So I think I'll keep it and get my black one that is in the car recovered . I talked to the retrim guy and roughly end of July it's booked in for . So that kick started me to do mk2 of the infill between the pad and windscreen. This time I doubled up the cardboard so the staples don't go through and added the 240 rear screen vents

I've taken around 7mm off the depth this time so it slots in better to take account the thickness of the vinyl with a good chamfer on the edges top and bottom so the vinyl sticks well before stapling. Took a couple of days to do with the drying time of the glue . Looks better with the vents .

On the ankle front , I went to work Wednesday 7 hours and Thursday 5 hours for no pay to see what I'm like . Stayed in the factory hobbling around . Outcome, no where near ready for full time or site work . Just got to get me head around the fact I'm not ready and keep up the exercises .

A perfect rear hatch still with stickers of mine on it was in the racks in the bowels of BMG last I was in there......sob.

A couple of weeks ago I took the car to a local auto stereo shop and discussed what I wanted in depth with them , very helpful. My plan was ALL Alpine as the single HU and auto changer is Alpine. I came away with the new plan of Rockford Fosgate front and rear speakers and sub but unsure of what amp atm but still set on one 5 channel amp . They seemed pretty certain that Alpine is not what it used to be hence the change to R F .

With this in mind I set about on mk3 of the boot floor .

As you can see one of the cross pieces of plastic has broken from stuff going in the boot so I bought a cage like thing months back

The 2nd to last picture you can see I need to build it up some what to bring it level to the floor , last picture I cut and made a ring just to see , the ply is only around 5mm thick , I need to make up around 30mm to bring it upto floor level. Then the new sub will be screwed up from underneath. This is where I've hit a hurdle , suddenly I thought I don't know the depth of the new sub so back to the shop . I need 200mm and only have 150mm between the floor and spare wheel . But , we did discuss they have a slimline sub at 150mm , not as powerful but I'll have to sacrifice and go with that for the outcome I want . It's kind of stopped me in my tracks for now . The floor will eventually get covered in the same marine vinyl as I bought 3 metres of it to do this and that plinth for the front screen. Hopefully what I have in mind will work , trial and error lol..

Been working roughly 5-6 hours a day now and ankle is holding up along with physiotherapy, might hit the boss up tomorrow for some $$ ? hopefully back full time in a couple of weeks ?

The standard P80 speakers were made by Dynaudio with Volvo sticker/Part number but the R usually got the Dynaudio system with speakers in rear doors and (in the wagons) in the side bit beside the hatch , all look similar to base spec but brand of Dynaudio. Tweeters ARE different in the crossover on the back.

Woofs I dunno. But, C70 got the E P I C system with massive Alpine amp in boot and nice drivers that equal what are in my hifi Dynaudio speakers!

They say the car ones are different but model numbers and looks are similar,I'm sure the crossovers are different, shit, even voice coil winding could be.....

SO, going away from Alpine/Dynaudio needs careful choice to make a better sound.

I always wanted more midrange, the C70 door card has a gorgeous 3"? soft dome mid , I was Frankenstein'ing a C70 speaker mount set into my V70R front door cards....

So find a C70 with premium sound and get four woofs, four tweets, four tweets and a centre , put em in your car.

Running individual amps at front ( seperate the mid woofer maybe) back doors/rear tweets and a sub so three or four with a good parametric/self analysing unit thingo with a microphone to balance it all and it's great....easy as that...

Now you can see why after a couple of years fixing up that R I never finished......

Early last year I bought a pair of adapters for the front doors so from 5 1/4 to 6 1/2 . I'll keep the rear doors at 5 1/4 . Will go with 4 tweeters , the 2 in the rear can go in the oem place but the front 2 will be placed somewhere else as when I get the dash pad re-trimed I'm deleting the speakers in the pad . Eventually it'll get done but unfortunately everything is on hold atm ..

I actually worked on site yesterday, fitted two windows. A job like that usually would have taken roughly four hours, took six and a bit . Not too bad but ankle was pretty swollen in the afternoon . Physio was impressed on thursday so that's a good sign . Keep on keeping on as I keep on getting told ?

I'm sat here contemplating my next move , just been cleaning the inside and the windscreen and my arm literally brushed the alarm and the top fell down through a hole into the dash

Took the under panel off in hope it may have fallen through, nope. Might be time to swap the pad over for now and put that infill in with new alarm flasher . Damn !

Bit more broken plastics and all is good

Air vents working perfectly , happy about that . Not fixing or glued down yet obviously until the other gets re-trimed. Brings me onto this ...

..this is the original pad to the car . I've kept it to fiddle around with to delete the airbag but keep the brackets that bolt up inside the glovebox. Something to keep me busy .

On a side note I'm liking the gray pad so on the retrim I'm actually thinking charcoal or gray rather than black suede, hmm .
