rado Man! That cargo bay looks the business. Missed out on this post as it was just before I started doing regular posts in April. You're a bit like me with my V40, even the channels are shiny.

rado any tips for removing the radio and replacing the bulbs behind the 1, 2, & 3 buttons? 😊

There are two long buttons either side of the head unit, push those in and they will pop out . Pull the tabs and the head unit will slide out from the dash .
Once you've disconnected the plugs etc you'll will notice a few screws ( Philips ) take those out that hold the face plate then gently pull the place on a bench ( that you've hopefully working on )

Then you can see the bulbs and just a matter of a small flat screw driver to twist them out and in ..

Not sure on the spec of the bulbs but here's a dew pictures of the original..

Notice the little blue rubber that sits over the bulb, weirdly that makes the illumination green .

Interesting. So technically I'd just need the bulb and I could swap over the rubber caps?

They're the standard little dash bulbs that can be removed from the black base right?

Turns out the globes can't be removed from the black base so i ended up ordering some T3 bulbs for my radio.

Are the wires soldered in?

I have been able to remove bulbs from housings like these by carefully using a pick, or jewellers flathead screw driver to straighten the wire pigtails and pull the globe off the base.

New globes are available from ebay/aliexpress (may even jaycar), just measure your old unit to get the sizing. Get the appropriate cap to get the illumination colour you want and off you go.

Or if you get lucky at jaycar they might have the bulbs ready to go in bases.

GreenGL I tried but the OEM base has melted the plastic to secure the wire. So it might be possible but tedious.

Yeah, I just realised I can remove the globes by unwinding the wires. Appreciate the advice 😊

You should be able to buy the whole thing ie plug n play , well that's what I done when I changed to blue but looks like you've already sussed out a different approach..

Hey guys , I'm getting a whirring kinda noise I think from the rear left . I'm thinking wheel bearing , any thoughts ? 🤔

When was last time rear brakes and hand brake shoes checked

Hey @rado , as @242GT suggests, I'd check for a sticky/stuck brake shoe first and then maybe wheel bearing. Rear wheel bearings seem to be able to do a HEAP of kms before failing.

Hmmm okay guys , I reckon last time I checked the rear brakes was when I done the change over to the brake conversion. Obviously everything was good back then , will have a look soon 👍

rado It'll be a little more of a pain to adjust the handbrake through the S60R rear rotors too as you're likely doing it through one of the wheel bolt holes.
