  • [Vic] Imlachs - 242 GT

Just noticed Imlachs wreckers have a 242 GT. Round eyes, in barn find/original condition. Been there 2 - 3 weeks apparently.

Sorry the site won't let me copy the pictures. Just go to their website and 'view vehicles'

Here you go

This has been there for a few weeks, I've already removed pretty much evrything worth having. It has a bit of rust and some accident repaires. If anyone wants the shell I have the keys and ID tags for it.
Lance knew about the car, it had been on the club regsister before coming into the wreckers and is now listed as being parted out.
What do they want for shell?
Do we have to buy all the parts back off you to make a kar again??
I don't know if they would sell it, it's probably worth finding out asap if anyone wants it though, it probably won't be there much longer. Depending on how long ago the stock list was last updated it could already be gone.
I plan on using most of the parts to put my GT back together, I might have some spares though.

It was listed as there today
It was still there on Saturday, not many GT specific parts left aside from back seats and black headliner, both in pretty average shape, and the doors are still on it.

Still has an M46, pedal box and clutch hydraulics, round headlight front end with reasonable headlight surrounds, grille is damaged.

It's on the ground with no front wheels so the gearbox would take some creativity to remove.

Of greater interest is the 16 valve 740GLE with intact engine bay aside from the alternator, that would be a cheap way to get most of the parts needed to put a 16v head on a redblock.

Shame for a GT to go this way! Bit of work but shouldn't have ended like that.

I'd like a nice straight flat hood {NSW}. Sold my rusty 242GT largely intact with the straightest flat hood I've seen (hood had no rust of concern, silly me).

amazed no-one took that to restore?! what a waste
There are much better examples out there, it was quite rough.
I had a look, the rust stopped me having a go!
You aussies have never seen a rusty car :-)
