We did have a failure of Rob Probin's 245. But Tim from Ike's got it sorted out, I had the parts needed in the shed, and my 245 gave up it's crank angle sensor for it as well. Caught up with Rob yesterday, he got home without issue and is a very happy man. There were a number of items that needed replacement, but this week's work should ensure his car will continue for quite a while yet.

@bgpzfm142 I would definitely lend Oz Volvo support to such an event, I'd love to do tassie but organising it from Sydney with a full-time job is just a logistical impossibility for me.

Sweet! Might see if I can enlist the assistance of @bigal, @1971_144GL, @GingerNinja and others if it's going to happen.
Ghettobird
@darcher93 would know a thing or two about down there too

I’d be looking more at 2020 for tassie as the last 2 years have been south of Sydney, one being in Victoria, also being the fact that it will be in Tassie, it gives everyone time to really plan and save for the holiday plus it means that the planning for such an event can be perfect.
Personally I’d love to see north of Sydney or Blue Mountains, Dubbo even.

the volvo club of Victoria tried to sort a trip for Tazzi it fell on its arse 1 month before departure , so keep it to the mainland
GingerNinja
Can help with down south meets if the people are keen.

I'll put in a vote for a Tassie meet, I'm looking at doing a trip there soon anyway, hopefully in a Volvo, so I could make the meet form part of the trip.

Tasmania seems popular

I can help out this end too. This is home
https://www.barringwood.com.au/Vineyard-Kitchen--Cellar-Door so can utilise it if that works.
Ravanelli
looks good, catering may be better than a sausage in a bun.
i would definitely go to Tassie.
my mum lives there so a good excuse for a visit
Wino
I’d go but it’d be on a motorbike, wouldn’t want to waste those roads trapped in a car.

If there's to be a Tas Nats done successfully, over and above everything else which needs doing at a gig like this, we would also need to organise -
- some sort of hotel / B&B / camping deal
- some sort of package with ANL, for the Spirit of Tas
- a generous event sponsor (or two)
We'd also need to have it at a time of year which isn't going to be high demand season, as space upon The Boat can get rather difficult to find at school holidays, any big meeting at Symonds Plains / Baskerville, near Targa Tas time, and around the time of the Tasmanian round of the rally championship.

So, any word on 2019???
jamesinc
@14JEZ I haven't got anything worked out at this stage. My life has been a bit chaotic the last few months and I'm struggling to find the time/energy to get planning underway
Raebird
Happy to assist anyway possible @jamesinc ...

Some suggestions for the next one:
- Start the food cooking earlier
- More BBQ hotplate space
- Issue participants with staged time entry tickets for set up
- Closer access to water and toilets or perhaps set up water tanks / large bottles near cooking area
- More shaded areas beside the car display zone
- If more tables and chairs are required I can get free supply but it will need a bit of logistics to get them to and from location.

Ok, going to put it out there, considering it’s already January can I suggest Bathurst on the first or second weekend of November, accomodation is cheap, access to the mountain for the cruise and easy for everyone to get to.
